Hi Pets R Us, Our housesitters have contacted us and due to family member illness may not be able to look after our dogs and cats. They will let us know by beginning Nov.
We are going o/s for 5 weeks. I know your availability stated end Dec. I'm wondering if you are flexible in your dates and would perhaps consider housesitting for us.
We have 4 whippets and 2 devon rex cats. I am only interested in people who are prepared to take the dogs out daily for exercise. The dogs are very quiet, good on and off lead. I take them out by myself and they have excellent "bush manners", staying on the paths and following me. I take them up the mountain, along the creek, to the beach, through parklands and very occassionally to a dog park for agility ( not my preferred place!!!). They are not aggressive, seldom bark, sleep in their own beds, toillet trained, can fetch and do not have separation anxiety.They have access to outdoors via dog door. They have a raw food diet twice daily.
I have 2 friends that I meet regularly with their whippets and we take 7 dogs off lead for a long bush walk and speed run. No problems in the car.
The cats and dogs co habitate peacefully. The devons are allowed outside when I am home but have a designated cat room to confine them if necessary.
Our home has mod cons etc, air conditioned, pool, good internet, fully fenced on an ax handle block. Reliable Car and petrol card provided. Not much outside space as our house is situated on the side of a hill though I have always believed that no matter how big a back yard is dogs need to go out and be able to run free in a straight line and not round and round!!!
