Hi, and thanks for taking the time to read my profile! My name is Freyja and I am a single working mother to two boys - Dantae who is 11 and Dec (short for Declan) who is 8. I want you to ask yourself – if you knew you were going to be blind in a matter of years, what would you want your last visual memories to be? This is the question I recently pondered as due to an inflammatory health condition called uveitis, I will progressively lose my eye sight ultimately resulting in total blindness. I currently work full time as a carer as well as own my own cleaning, gardening and home maintenance business and I can promise you I don’t want to waste these last few precious years working 14 hours a day! I want to remember my children’s faces, their smiles, sun rises and sunsets, the natural beauty of Australia and make memories that will last long after my eye sight fades.

So, with that in mind, I have made the decision that between October 2017 and January 2018 the kids and I will do a half lap of Australia (Adelaide to the top of Queensland and then all away down the east coast, in to Victoria and home again via the Great Ocean Road). We are not looking to go anywhere in particular nor do we have any set time frame – if we don’t get the whole way around, so be it! We are just looking to spend some quality time together which is why we believe house sitting would provide the ideal accommodation option for us.

So… why hire a single mum and two kids…!

The three of us are all kind and caring individuals who enjoying speding time outdoors exploring Australia – so far we have done Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland and of course South Australia together! We all have a zest for life and adventure which reflects strongly in our bubbly personalities! We are a very close-knit family, who are down to earth, relaxed and always looking to meet new people. I am a non-smoker or drinker and am very passionate about healthy, sustainable living. My other big passion is taking photos, particularly nature shots like sunsets, waterfalls, wildlife etc.

The boys and I are total animal lovers (we own a dog, three cats, two birds and a rabbit!) The children have grown up with these pets and in turn have learnt how to be gentle, responsible and care for them in an appropriate manner. They can not wait to take care of your pet and give them the same love and attention they do for all our furry friends at home!

Both my professions well equip me to be an exceptional house sitter. Being a carer, I am adept at providing what my clients want in a timely and respectful manner. I also work in the cleaning side of my own business meaning you can be assured your home will be looked after to the highest degree. I am passionate about looking after not only my own home, but also that of other people. This enthusiasm has been passed down to my children and they will often accompany me to cleaning jobs and pitch in to help!

I currently hold a DCSI and National Police Clearance. I am also able to provide a reference from my current land lord demonstrating the exceptional level of care I have provided to their home.
