I'd love to use my 13 years of Pet Minding experience to care for your pets and home while exploring new areas.
A mature, single non-smoker who has the occasional social drink, I'm fit and healthy and enjoy walking, reading, music and gardening.
I've fostered Greyhounds retired from the track and foster failed (adopted) on a number of occasions. They come into a home environment with no experience so it's the foster parents' role to educate them in all aspects of how to be a pet. Some take to it readily, some take time to overcome their fear so patience and the ability to be flexible and creative help them to settle and learn. Seeing them have fun and enjoy being loved is so rewarding and they have such big hearts to love you in return.
The desire to keep dogs and cats in their own environment while their families were away, inspired me to establish "Pets-In-Home-Care" and it was an honour to be trusted with so many gorgeous pets, farm animals and homes between the 2 rural townships where I lived.
One thing I always adhere to is following instructions and schedules exactly as set out as it ensures your pet remains relaxed and comfortable with it's routine.
I have a current Police Check and have completed a Pet's First Aid Course.
As a child we had dogs, a rabbit, guinea pigs, birds and a horse and as a pet minder I've cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, chickens, birds, horses, sheep, alpacas, cattle, lizards, fish and gardens.
Having worked 4 years with Queensland Police Service and more recently in the retail industry, my sense of humour has been an invaluable asset. My most recent position as a Store Manager entailed thinking on my feet and finding solutions when issues arose.
I have been a home owner and a tenant and understand the importance of maintaining a clean, tidy home and garden.
