We are a mature, sensible and very, very practical couple with extensive housesitting experience. We possess a unique collection of experiences, skills and interests that lend themselves perfectly to any caretaking position where self-reliance, good judgment and adaptability are essential. With backgrounds in international banking and project management, we are responsible and careful people. We share a sunny disposition, a "can take care of anything" attitude and a brilliant sense of humour.

Having lived in some reasonably remote places & spent a lot of time on sailboats at sea, we have become rather proficient at problem solving in unusual situations and are very practical with a hands-on approach to maintenance and care. We are both very adaptable and between us, can drive anything from a moped to a 14' flatbed truck!

We are an energetic, fit, outdoor-loving couple and would be keen to exercise dogs as we both relish any opportunity to walk and explore. We don't smoke, do drugs or throw parties & are completely drama free‼ We do, however, enjoy an occasional glass of red wine.

As conscientious and caring people, we would welcome the opportunity to care of your home and pets as if they were our own. We are both fastidiously clean and very well-organised with an ingrained sense of respect both for people and their property. We have always worked to leave a property better than we found it.

We would be more than happy to provide email updates and/or to be available on Skype during the housesit period. We would also be very happy to telephone if you'd prefer to interview us by phone first.


OUR EXPERIENCE WITH PETS:
We both have a great rapport with animals (especially cats & dogs as we’ve had several of our own) should you need any looked after. Previously, we’ve taken care of entire menageries ranging from dogs and cats to cows, calves & a stud bull, horses and chooks, fish and even a peacock‼

Having had numerous cats and dogs as our own family members over the years, we are so very aware of the anxiety and stress that they may suffer when their family is absent. We make it our first priority to bond with all staying-at-home family members through affectionate cuddles, comforting strokes and calming, verbal re-assurances (and perhaps a treat or two‼). Experience has shown us that this extra effort on our part at the very beginning of a housesit helps enormously to smooth the transition for the animals and ensures that they still feel safe and loved.


WHY WE WANT TO HOUSESIT:
We love the change and challenge that travelling provides - new places, new people (new pets to play with!).

We love house sitting as it always seems to present such unusual situations and challenges. We love finding the humour in every situation!


OUR HOUSESIT EXPERIENCE:
We have extensive house sitting experience (currently numbering 13 homes) in numerous parts of the world: England (3 homes), France (the Rhone Valley), Hawaii, Australia (5 homes), the Caribbean, Thailand (Phuket) and beautiful Laos. We've looked after everything from hobby farms to executive homes and luxury mansions.
