More information about this house sitterHello, as a retiree and homebody I will be happily dedicating and prioritizing all of my time to taking exemplary care of your pets, home, and garden/pot plants. I began housesitting in 2001, so I am an expert at closely and carefully following home owners instructions and pet routines.
I am a single, quiet, non-smoking, trustworthy (with a National Police Check and References), reliable, animal loving, communicative (so happy to send updates), and security conscious person who became a home owner in 2006. I also respect the privacy and confidentiality of clients, inclusive of abiding by a firm 'no visitor' and 'no alcohol' policy during my stay at your home, to ensure the safety and security of your pets and home, as well as assisting with maintaining your privacy and confidentiality.
I love walking, reading, gardening, art, hat/cap collecting, card making, the seaside (lots of holidays at Batemans Bay, Ulladulla, and surrounds), and cats, as growing up my family had a clowder of cats. I also have experience with dogs (housesitting plus was owned by a chihuahua -Tawny - in the early 1980s), and some experience with horses (via volunteering with Riding for the Disabled in the 1980s), and cows (through my grandmother's farmlet). As well I enjoy travel both within Australia - I have visited all states (including living in Toowoomba, QLD for 2 years) and territories except NT, and overseas - approximately ten countries visited.
2001-2003: I started Housesitting in Canberra, ACT and Queanbeyan, NSW through a Housesit Agency. My final housesit at this time was long term (10 months - I paid for utilities) at a townhouse in Queanbeyan with a sweet black cat.
2004-2005: I started renting but continued with housesits for friends, family, and previous clients - all with cats and/or dogs.
2006-2017: In 2006 I bought a Townhouse in Queanbeyan, NSW, and got to be owned by my big, fluffy grey and white, independent, rescue cat Turk (sadly deceased). During this time I undertook daily house checks/pet visits, for holidaying friends, and family.
2018: Early in the year I undertook a one week housesit for an acquaintance with a small charming, tortoiseshell cat. I also housesat for a month for a friend who was hospitalised, inclusive of two cats at opposite ends of the spectrum as one was a settled senior and the other a playful kitten.
2019-2020: I spent my time ensuring my townhouse was ready for sale, and this occurred in November 2020. I began my first housesit and catsit (a cuddly ginger senior boy, photo attached), through Mindahome, on 29 Dec 2020.
2021 - Five enjoyable house and pet sits (in total four cats - 2 moggies, 2 burmese; one sheep, one alpaca, one small dog - Chihuahua cross) completed. I'm currently driving to my next housesit in a country town in NSW where I'll enjoy the company of two small dogs for six months.
Other useful information
I supply my own food (39 years a vegetarian) and pillows/pillow slips. I can also supply sheets, blanket/s, and towels if required. As well I have a drivers licence and now drive a small economical Toyota Yaris (but miss my Mazda Bravo ute).
Please note: I implement and practise COVID-19 safe procedures such as thorough hand washing and sanitising, and maintaining the required distance from strangers.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile, I look forward to meeting both you and your pets.
I am relying on one verbal referee for my first 2020/21 house/cat sit (phone number available on request), and three recent written 2021 reviews listed below on Mindahome.
