More information about this house sitter

(Please note: I am currently unavailable for housesits until further notice) I'm a highschool teacher in my late 40s and will be taking extended long service leave in the first half of 2025 (yay!) School holidays start mid December, (double yay!) so I will be available from then on. I live in the beautiful riverside suburb of Ascot, which is only ten minutes from the city and has the usual city soundscape of planes, sirens and traffic. Therefore, I'm looking for opportunities to spend some time on hobby farms or in country/coastal towns. I'm a country person at heart having grown up in a southwest town and love spending time with animals. I have 10 year old rescue dog of my own, who will stay with my parents (his home away from home) if he is not able to join me at the housesits. I've owned and loved two cats, four dogs, numerous chickens, tropical and goldfish, a rabbit and a rat in my lifetime and I'm very willing to look after other animals if I'm given the appropriate guidance by the owners. I'm a homeowner myself and have used housesitters/petsitters previously, so I understand how much more enjoyable a holiday is when you have someone responsible whom you feel you can trust caring for your home and animals while you are away. As a teacher, I have a Working With Children card (which requires a police clearance) and can assure you of my dependability and integrity. When I'm not working, I enjoy getting outdoors (usually with my dog), cycling, gardening, reading and watching TV series.
