Recently retired, exploring West Australia and loving it !!
My wife, Sandra, and I are retired Americans slowly traveling around WA. We chose to sit out the pandemic in WA and are thankful everyday! We spent Feb 2020 in Tassie and then flew to Perth in March to hunker down. When spring came around, we packed up the car and explored the southwest and the amazing wildflowers and big trees. We both love the water, so in Nov 2020 we decided to head to Geraldton to warmer water and good wind for kiteboarding. We have mostly stayed at airBnBs (from 4 nights to 6 weeks) with a few hotels mixed in.

Why MindaHome?
An Aussie friend told us about MindaHome and what great experiences they have had, so we thought we would give it a try! We think it would be a fun and different perspective to living in Australia.

Have we done this before?
(March 2021, when we joined Mind-a-Home) This will be our first experience house-sitting thru the website. We are honest, clean, proactive, conscientious, reliable, non-smokers who enjoy life. We have gotten to know many of the owners of the airBnBs we’ve stayed in and will use them as our references. Even though house-sitting is new to us, being in someone else’s home and taking care of it is certainly not new. We would be delighted to keep watch over your property and will take care of your home, lawn and garden as if it was our own.
(Updated Aug 2021) We are currently in our second house-sit. Our first house-sit was for 5 weeks and was a big success. Our current house-sit is for 3 months and we are enjoying taking care of the beautiful house, pool and plants. We will be available after 10 September 2021.

Our background.
We are both retired engineers, and spent more than 20 years working as overseas contractors in the Marshall Islands. Before living in the Marshall Islands, Sandra lived in Colorado and I lived in Florida. We have traveled quite a bit over the years and enjoy sharing travel stories with others. We retired mid 2019 with the plan to travel with no set itinerary and no set timeline… just enjoy each day.

Pets?
Unfortunately, we have little experience with pets, so house-sitting with no pets is best for us.

Police Checks?
Because the Australian government has given us Visitor Visas, we were required to obtain Police Checks from both the Australian Federal Police and the Marshall Islands; copies of these can be provided on request.
