Hello, my name is Ann. My husband Jim and I have been married for forty-nine years and have two daughters both of whom are married. We are extremely fortunate to have been very involved in the lives of our three grandchildren who are now 20,17 and 15 years old.

Jim grew up on a dairy farm which we purchased from his parents a few years after we married. This was an ideal environment in which to rear our daughters which they loved but did not wish to pursue as a career.

While living on the farm I was employed as a Teacher Librarian and then as a Public Librarian, positions I feel I contributed well to and thoroughly enjoyed.

Over the years Jim has been heavily involved in sport, particularly Australian Rules football. With his playing days over he held a number of responsible positions including coaching, Committee Member, Club President and League President, all of which he did very well with integrity and reliability.

In 2013 Jim was honoured to be inducted into the inaugural Hampden Football Netball League Hall of Fame in recognition of his commitment to the League.

Jim was also a Committee Member of the Warrnambool Racing Club for five years which allowed him to follow his interest in horse racing.

After retiring I volunteered at Lyndoch Living a local aged care facility once a week which I just loved doing. We took some residents in wheelchairs and on walkers out for morning tea and then for various activities until lunchtime. In the afternoon I organized a trivia session which would usually last for two hours or more. The residents were delightful and we had lots of fun and many laughs.

For the last three years Jim has been driving a wheelchair van transporting people with a physical or intellectual impairment. He enjoyed this immensely and was valued highly by both the clients and the staff of the various facilities.

After selling our home we were asked to house sit locally and have been here for three years. This home on 3/4 acre has now been sold with the owners, agents and new owners extremely pleased with the presentation of the property.

This experience has made us keen to continue house sitting in other areas, a decision dear friends who have been sitting for a year are encouraging us in.
