We are a married couple travelling from the Northern Territory to Western Australia on Monday, August 16th. We are interested in pet sitting / house sitting in the month of August (and potentially beyond until the early summer). Our dates are somewhat flexible, as is our general location in WA. We are both able to work from home - and so long as the house/apartment we are helping with can accommodate two “computer workers” in some manner, we will be happy.

We are animal lovers, dog owners, business owners who have a unique set of circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Originally from Texas, we’ve been living in Melbourne since Feb 2019. Obviously, our ability to travel across Australia has been limited. In addition, our dog Stanley is in Texas with his grandparents (due to having existing medical conditions and not being able to get past Aussie quarantine), leaving us a bit homesick and lost without a dog to run around with. In summary, our driving motivations are to see Australia finally and make some new animal friends in the process.

We have never used house sitting platforms prior to this, but we have pet sat before and can share those references with you. Understandably, with limited reviews on your platform it is hard to establish trust - as such, on our end we have tried to think of ways to offer reassurance that we are responsible animal lovers and homeowners. Generally speaking, we are both business owners with public profiles while also being adults who have owned homes in our lives. I think offering more information about us each is helpful.

Michael is a managing partner at Holistic Analytics, an international consultancy HQ’ed in Melbourne. Michael is visible in the analytics, marketing, and entrepreneurial communities in Melbourne.

Brit is a PHD candidate (Deakin) and research consultant currently working with Deakin University, Sydney Local Public Health, and Texas State Uni. Her specialisation is in applying technology/digital to child health promotion programs.

We are currently in Darwin working in a hotel - we’ll have been in NT for 2 weeks on 15 August and so are planning on crossing into WA the day after. We are happy of course to do a phone/video call, give references, etc to figure out learn if we are a good match.
