{To begin just to say that I prefer to answer ads myself rather than be applied to as I feel that the homeowner's time is often wasted as I often have to decline. Thank you:) }
Hi, I'm Nicky, a single, mature age, non smoking female and an experienced pet and house sitter. Triple vaccinated (I haven't had covid at all).
I work as a housekeeper/cleaner so am well used to caring for the homes of others and have petsat also for many of their pets.
I began housesitting in December 2014 when a client asked me to house sit for 3 months. Shortly after, between looking for a new flat, I thought to take up petsitting full time in various homes and did so for nearly a year, my "enchanted year" as I call it!
It was a delightful time of making many furry friends, meeting lovely owners and getting to know other Sydney suburbs .
After being in my own place again I still like to do short petsits (miss the pets!) in Sydney's inner west or close environs or in the Blue Mountains (weekends only or over Christmas/ New year in the Mtns if close to the train station). Free to air tv is appreciated too:)
I love the affection and entertainment the pets bring and have cared for a wide range of personalities (dogs and cats plus chickens and fish). A few of the cats have been very timid or of the standoffish type nature but they came to trust and accept me well. I don't force anything but just take it in their own time. Have come to the notion that if you love them, they will love you:)
Most all of my pet/house sits resulted in resits and I have also pet sat for most of my cleaning job pets. They are all my lovely friends!
I am quiet-living so you would not need to worry about your home being used in any untoward way and am also very mindful that the pets would be missing their owners so lots of tlc is given (in the measure each likes) to make the time a reassuring and happy one for them.
I am not a traveller or rent saver so it really is about the pets for me (Blue Mountain locations are an added bonus as I love the Mtns!)
I love to garden and give any indoor plant care too if needed.
To add as it may be noticed in my bookings that I have been taking on weekday petsits for regular owners. I was refusing them but could see it meant peace of mind having someone they knew but as it means working around my jobs, with travel time etc and at times needing to travel home for things to be done plus the end cleaning time :), I do charge a fee for any nights that lead into a workday. I am not on this site for paid sitting though, just for little weekend getaways with furry pals :)
