I've decided to do house sitting for a while after being diagnosed with a serious illness last year. I'm nearly totally well again, but I don't feel ready to return to deal with the extensive renovations that my partner and I were happily undertaking before my diagnosis. I have been staying with friends since the end of my treatment, but need to move on from that situation, as you can imagine. That's why house sitting seems an attractive option - a change of scenery for a while and also looking after someone else's pets. I think it would be very therapeutic for me.

It's not just about me, though. I would care very much about the experience being a positive one for any home owner who chooses me to look after their property.

I love all animals. My last dog died around three years ago at the age of 16. I miss not having a dog around and am always petting other people's. I also like cats and their spirited nature.

I am happy to look after/water plants or do anything that is required for the upkeep of your home.

I have an impeccable rental history, have always gotten all my bond back, but have never had to hire someone to do a bond clean. I would treat your home as I've always treated other people's homes - just as if it was my own home to be proud of.

I've only just joined, so I don't have written references from home owners yet, but I can provide a reference letter and the contact details from the last real estate agency we rented through.

My partner will mostly stay at our home as he is a software engineer and works from home. He will stay with me on the weekends, though.

I would truly appreciate being given the opportunity to look after your home and pets and to see you happy when you come back home. Read more...
