More information about this house sitter

Hello my name is Michelle, I am an experienced home, garden and pet carer. I'm available as a single home carer or I can include my small family (the choice is yours). My time is flexible as I am currently on leave from work. I am a happy, positive person, who enjoys meditating, yoga, pilates, respecting my health (non-smoker), reading, listening to music and spending time outdoors enjoying the garden and wildlife. I've cared on a small scale (home, garden, cat and dog) and a large scale (hobby farm with acreage including livestock, poultry and wildlife). I am passionate to offer high quality care for homes and pets, caring for them as if they were my own.
While you are away travelling, I will dedicate my time to interacting with your pets and livestock. Ensuring they feel loved and calm, minimising any stress they may feel through missing you. I will maintain your home by keeping it consistently clean and tidy. I will spend time in your garden and on your property maintaining it the way that you like, by watering, weeding, mowing, picking fruit/veg and being there every day and night so that your home still maintains that lived in look to passers by. For example, the presence of my car out the front of your home, the collection of your mail, your lights being sighted through the windows during the evening and my general presence through the entirety of my stay both indoors and out.
I grew up on a mini hobby farm, learning to care and nurture the garden, organic vegetable patch and fruit trees. Animal care ranged from feeding, playing, cleaning out enclosures, administering medication when required and providing enrichment (physical and mental stimuli through toys and games). Caring for animals included livestock (cows, goats), poultry (chicks, chickens, ducks and turkeys), cats, dogs, rabbits, turtles, lizards and fish.
I've also participated in volunteer work including weekly visits to the animal shelter to give love and positive reinforcement training to dogs and cats. I also had a month stay at the South African CARE Baboon Sanctuary and Rehabilitation Centre, where I participated in care, food preparation, feeding and enrichment of the baboons. Additionally, I assisted in the maintenance of enclosures (repairing the wire, cleaning, clearing out old enclosures and providing new branches etc for them to climb on).
Finally, I have participated in basic wildlife training both interstate and locally to rescue and care for birds, possums, bats, wombats, kangaroos and reptiles.
Thank you for kindly taking the time to read my profile.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to meeting you soon.
Kindly,
Michelle
