More information about this house sitter
Hi :)
My name's Carly, I'm 31 years old and from Newcastle, Australia. I'm currently travelling Australia in my van and available for house/pet sitting along the way.
I’m referred to by my friends as the ‘crazy dog lady’ and have been passionate about dogs/animals since I was a kid. I’ve been involved in dog rescue since I was 17 and have fostered/rehomed over 20 dogs whilst living between Newcastle and the Mid North Coast. I also managed a boarding kennel where I was looking after upwards of 200 dogs a day. When I was 22, I moved to Bali, Indonesia to volunteer with a local dog rescue for 2 months. 2 months quickly turned into nearly 6 years, and I ended up living in Bali rescuing and rehabilitating as many dogs/cats as I could manage. During this time, I was working intensely with traumatised dogs to develop their trust in humans again and developed a keen interest in dog psychology and body language. I also ended up rescuing my own dog, Lano, who sadly passed away before the international travel restrictions due to covid lifted. I got ‘stuck’ in Australia just before all of the covid restrictions, and have decided that now’s a good time to travel around whilst still trying to surround myself with as many animals as possible :)
I have tonnes of experience with animals and have also house-sat numerous times for both friends and professionally. I am my friend’s go-to if they need their animals looked after and regularly stay at their houses (so far in Australia, Indonesia and Europe) for weeks/months looking after and hanging out with their animals. I have also dog-sat through another online platform, both at other people’s houses and having their animals stay at mine. I've added a review from a recent professional dog-sit into my pictures :)
I have experience with traumatised dogs, dogs with behavioural issues, dog training, medications, etc. and am happy to accommodate any individual needs. I will treat your animals as if they are my own, and also have absolutely no problems letting them sleep in the bed if that’s what they’re used to :)
I'm also a fully qualified disability and mental health Social Worker, and have all of the relevant checks (police check, WWCC, etc).
PS: I am slightly obsessed with house plants too so will be able to take good care of them as well! Read more...
