More information about this house sitter

I'm a single, non smoking 50yr old female currently employed full-time. I have decided to not renew my lease, so that i can become a house sitter, save some money and then travel doing a combination of camping and house sitting. My kids are all adults and it's time for me to go exploring. Hooray!
Having been a home owner myself, I understand the care and security required when entrusting your home to a stranger.
I love animals. Most of my life I've had a combination of cats, dogs, ducks and turtles. I'm currently pet free and I look forward to being able to give some love and attention to other peoples pets.
I'm new to formal house sitting, so I don't have any references. I'm more than happy to meet in person (where possible), chat on the phone or use FaceTime so that you can meet me and be comfortable with the honest, respectful and frugal person that I am. I'm very conservative when it comes to using things like air con, heaters and dryers. I avoid those items as much as possible in my own home and I'd do the same in your home.
When it comes to trust, I understand the importance of that. Over the past 3 years, I've had flatmates come and go in my home and it's very scary letting a total stranger into your house, knowing they have access to everything.
