I am a proud dad of 2 beautiful kids and recently separated, dust hasnt settled yet on that. Have partial care of my 2 children, aged 13 and 9. I have been renting for 12 months and just when i got settled into a new home, the owner comes along and says, "Sorry, I want to renovate so you have to move out". Great!!! I said, Its all I need. So someone suggested Housesitting to me as a possible short term option. This is because people know I am extremly house proud, cant stand mess or clutter, love pets, especially cats and birds and lovable dogs. My family used to breed budgies and cockatiels. I also have an affinity for Huskys. I have mainly had cats all my life. I ran my own cleaning and property maintenance business in Newcastle for 3 years between 2003-2006 with my ex-wife. I hold a Hospitality Management Certificate IV, also a partially qualified accountant. I dabble in novel writing and am an accomplished songwriter. I am a quiet guy who loves being around family and friends, I love home, and consider myself a home body, rather than a party animal. I keep a very tidy house and would apply the same principles to a strangers house where i was living as I would to my own. Although i lived in the same marital home for 12 years, I have good references from landlords who i have rented off over the past 12 months. I am considering house minding as an option to renting because I want to save some money and pay off some debts while continuing to raise and provide for my children. As far as geographic location of any potential housesitting ops, I love being near or on the water, though i could just as easily live on a farm and be happy. I have transport, albeit an old bomb, but ideally I would like to housesit near transport or train. Length of assignments would be variable, though I dont want to be moving every 4 weeks.
