I am a retired teacher who was born and raised on a farm (with lots of animals) in the US and spent most of my teaching career in Whyalla and Adelaide, South Australia.

From 2012 to 2016 I was an Australian Volunteer in the island nation of Kiribati in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, where I worked with the Ministry of Education and the Marine Training Centre. I also adopted 2 lovely dogs which I sadly had to leave behind when I departed in 2016.
Since returning to Australia I have sat a variety of animals and properties from Far North Queensland to the McLaren Vale south of Adelaide. Five dogs at once, 100+ finches for a month, Guinea fowl, an elderly standard poodle, Macca the Staffordshire, Kelsi the rescued German Shepherd, to energetic Jack Russells … a grumpy Scottish Fold cat needing medication … have all added to my sitting experience over the past 6 years. Not to mention the gardening requirements of the Charleville Bush Camp for 6 weeks over the Christmas holidays of 2021 and various gardens associated with the the above assignments. I love gardening and am very handy around the house, having built a rammed earth house on 20 acres in the Adelaide Hills, and a log house in the US, and have converted a van into my current home. In 2021 I volunteered at 3 different music festivals in Queensland as part of the set up crew and have been invited back to repeat one of the festivals in late November, 2022.

In 2018 I completed 400 kms of the Camino del Santiago de Norte in Spain and hope to return soon to finish the next 400 kms.

I am a non-smoker, eager to take care of your homes and pets, and help you enjoy your time away. All I require is a place to park my rather large van, which I now call home.
