More information about this house sitter
Hi! My name is Richard. I'm American traveler and writer.
My wife and I were homeowners in the U.S. For 20+ years and in 2012, sold everything and moved (home) to Sydney where we were for 4 years. In February (2017) I began travelling full time once our daughter left for Uni. We're now on to our next chapter as well. My home base is wherever our daughter is, otherwise it's wherever I am at the moment.
I'm slowly traveling the world, one housesit at a time.
I'm a writer (both fictional and travel blogger) and have had the opportunity to serve several happy home owners in the last few months.
I have reputation of being fastidiously clean, very responsible and extremely reliable. I’ve have been owners of cats, dogs, fish, frog, chickens, and cows. My family owned a farm in the Hill Country of Central Texas, and I would be remiss to say that all of our animals have been very spoiled. My nickname is 'St.Francis'. I am usually the favourite with pets...I'm happy to bring their food and water as well as give them lots of love and attention.
I'm excited about the opportunity to housesit. As a full-time traveller, I'd like to 'give back' as it were and allow others to travel as well, without having to worry about their house and pets (we know how that is having had a house and animals previously). Since I'm traveling full time, I like the idea of being somewhere for more than a day or two, to immerse into the areas I stay. I also like the idea of slow travel, having a bed to sleep in (that is a tent or an Airbnb somewhere) and be able to be somewhere where I can write and work without having to do all that at a picnic table or in a coffee shop.
Most of all, I look forward to getting my pet fix. Having had animals all my life, it's been a hard adjustment not having pets since moving (back) to Australia.
I look forward to treating your home with the utmost respect and spoil your pets as if they were my own. Read more...
