More information about this house sitter

Hi! My name is Tara and my husband is Richard. I'm an Australian. Rich is American.

We were homeowners in the U.S. For 20+ years and in 2012, sold everything and moved (home) to Sydney where we were for 4 years. In February (2017) we began travelling full time once our daughter left for Uni. We're now on to our next chapter as well. Our home base is wherever our daughter is, otherwise it's wherever we are at the moment.

We're slowly traveling the world, one housesit at a time.

I'm a writer (both fictional and travel blogger) and Rich is my trusty editor, driver and sanity saver (aka right hand.).

We have reputation of being fastideously clean, very responsible and extremely reliable. We have been owners of cats, dogs, fish, frog, chickens, cows, sheep and geese. I grew up on a farm in the Upper Hunter Valley of N.S.W., and I would be remiss to say that all of our animals have been very spoiled. As for my husband, his nickname is 'St.Francis'. I have no chance when it comes to being the favourite with pets...I'm simply the one to bring their food & water. =)

We're excited about the opportunity to housesit. As full-time travellers, we'd like to 'give back' as it were and allow others to travel as well, without having to worry about their house and pets (we know how that is having had a house and animals previously). Since we are travelling full time, we like the idea of being somewhere for more than a day or two, to immerse ourselves into the areas we stay. We also like the idea of slow travel, having a bed to sleep in (that is our tent or an Airbnb somewhere) and be able to be somewhere where we can write and work without having to do all that at a picnic table or in a coffee shop.

Most of all, we're looking forward to getting our pet fix. Having had animals all our lives, it's been a hard adjustment not having pets since moving (back) to Australia.

We look forward to treating your home with the utmost respect and spoil your pets as if they were our own.
