We are an active retired Australian couple, Alan (68) and Charmayne (71) who have decided a few years ago to offer our services in house sitting both in a foreign country and in Australia allowing us to fully participate in a local community. We are non-smokers. We have completed a year's adventure in France based in St Rémy de Provence and are looking to extend our adventures. We are open to all and any other opportunities.
Although we have travelled extensively and love to experience the historical and geographical delights that travel brings, we feel that until our French and European experience we had never had the opportunity to be a real part of a community outside of Australia and to totally appreciate the richness that is offered by another culture. The experience in France proved just how rewarding this type of travel can be and we are anxious to continue learning and growing from other cultures. Since returning to Australia we have found a wealth of cultural experiences in Australia that we had not previously considered having participated in house sitting in Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia.

Before leaving for France in 2014, we did regular housesits for one gentleman and other odd house sits. While in France, we completed house sits in Bellac, France, Málaga and London. These house sits were all wonderful experiences for us. In Bellac and Malaga we enjoyed the company of two cats in each house and in London we had a wonderful time with Minnie the dog. All of these sits were arranged with the website “Mind My House”. Additionally, we have house sat through the TrustedHousesitters site in Cedar Creek with two Devon Rex, Pandora and Tabatha, In Cambewarra with two Maltese, Bella and Miss Jenny, in Denmark Western Australia, with the chooks and the cats, Mottie and Micky and in Annerley with two Burmese, Mannie and Piper. All of these owners have provided us with excellent references.
Not only have we owned our own properties throughout our married life, but we have house sat for others who have been very happy with our services. We also owned an Apartment building management rights for 2 years and achieved a 4 ½ star rating. We have appropriate references attesting to our experience and the satisfaction of the home owners we sat for. Alan worked in maintenance for 20 years and I was a decorator. We have always taken great pride in our homes and gardens including our swimming pools. We have experience with cats, dogs and poultry. We had two cats of our own which lived long and happy lives with us. One lived to be 15 and other until he was 22. We really miss them so would love to sit cats. We have house sat dogs on a number of occasions and always developed a good rapport with them.
We can provide home owners with excellent references attesting to our care, our clean and quiet living habits as well as our honesty and integrity including Australian Police Certificates. Apart from the usual expectations of cleanliness and amenities, our only “must have” is good internet access.
