Kay and I have been married for almost 19 years, and are now residing in Bali after living in Kakadu National Park for the past 11 years.
We are non-smokers, in our mid 40’s and are enjoying some time on our own after raising our son and daughter, who are now starting their own adventures in life.
We have worked hard running our own businesses for the last 15 years and are now in the position to reap some of those rewards. This allows us the freedom to travel more widely and enjoy more of the world.
We both love to travel and explore different places, both overseas and within Australia. I love surfing as well as most sports. Kay loves anything to do with home decor / design and cooking.
We're clean, tidy and house trained, and very flexible.
House-sitting allows us to immerse ourselves into real communities and situations, seeing people going about their normal lives, meeting neighbours, making new friends, and getting a real feel for an area, rather than just the popular bits on the brochures.
And we get to save some money which allows us to travel more. Win win!
We joined a (US based) house-sitting website last year, and were lucky enough to mind a home, plus 3 cocker spaniels, in San Francisco for a week in October 2016.
We love pets, and have most recently had three turtles, two snakes and quite possibly the worlds most spoiled dog at home.
Over the years we have lived in our own homes as well as in rented properties, and have always cared for them and maintained them in an excellent condition. One of the businesses that we own offers holiday rental villas in Bali, Indonesia (Google "Flipkey Umalas Retreat" to see our guest reviews), so we are aware of the issues that people have leaving their homes with people that they don't know well.
