More information about this house sitter

An experienced house- and petsitter based in the inner suburbs of Melbourne. A calm and friendly person, I'm the go-to guy for housesitting and looking after dogs or cats among my friends, whose furrbabies are always excited to see me on repeat housesitting stints or when we bump into them around the neighbourhood.

Longer stays (more than two weeks) are preferred, but can do shorter stints particularly if you’re in the inner suburbs. I'm a homebody and don't work in an office—I spend my days writing, working on projects, and listening to podcasts and audiobooks—so can provide company to your pets all day for most days. And you can travel knowing that your house is secure with me looking after it. Being a homebody, staying somewhere with a pet or three brightens up my days too.

Will, of course, collect mail, water plants, put bins out (and bring them in again!), and ensure your home is as clean and tidy as you leave it.

Have always loved animals (“chook”, not “mum" or “dad”, was my first word). My beloved cat Skimble died just before COVID at the ripe old age of 20. A couple of timid indoor cats I catsat repeatedly got so fond of me that they'd come all the way down from the top floor to the front door when I went out. And I'm favourite uncle to my sister’s doggo. Have dogsat several dogs of all sorts of personalities from a bouncy spoodle to a lovely older dog who liked to sleep at my feet when I was working on my laptop.

During previous housesitting jobs, have been on hand to let in cleaners and tradies doing minor work, and people’s family/friends dropping off or collecting things. Am willing to assist with things like this provided I'm notified before hand and you supply me contact details of the person who is visiting your home while I'm looking after it.
