We have been married for 7 years and are currently renting in Kyneton, Victoria (Australia), and grew up in the inner suburbs. We’ve did the ‘tree change’ to Kyneton around 12 months ago, and love the country life so we’re comfortable in both environments. We are happy to house sit within 1hr of Melbourne to take care of your home and beloved pets in your absence.

Aged in our early to mid 40’s, Greg enjoys a 27 year career at Bowens Hardware & Timber, a building supply company and is very much a handyman when it comes to all things property related. Candace has enjoyed a 20 year career working as a Personal Assistant/Event Manager, and now works in a virtual capacity online with her clients. Our parents have built, owned and run many B&B accommodation properties and we have been heavily involved in those. We bring this knowledge, care and responsibility to your home.

We both have a passion for nature, Greg loves mountain bike riding, and Candace loves anything to do with organizing and maintaining a relaxing, clean & tidy home environment. We are both very detail orientated with great attention to detail.

We have now come to the point in our lives where we’d like to build our own B&B business along with our own home, and to help us move forward we’d like to find the right home to house sit while we work towards that goal.

As Candace works online full time, we do require reliable internet access for any house sit we take on, and since the majority of her time is spent working on her business from her laptop while Greg is at work during the day, we would spend most of our days and nights at home with your pets. We’re very much home bodies!

We always love to connect with home owners through Skype video so we can make a connection with you, and feel whether we are the perfect match for each other.

WHAT WE BRING TO YOU

Aged in our early to mid forties, we are a caring & passionate couple who love animals beyond measure, nature, keeping healthy and are often described as ‘home bodies’. We bring our passion to your pets and property, to spend quality time with your animals each day, giving them the same love and care we have given to our own pets since we were young, and to care for your property.

Between us, we have vast experience across building houses, renovating, problem solving, handling confidential information, handling emergencies, adapting to changing situations; also, we have a deep passion for all animals and have been involved in rescue dogs, fostering, and of course, our own beloved pets including first aid, medication and generally ensuring they feel loved and safe at all times.

We have both also completed our Builders Licence course so have a thorough understanding of how to address any building issues that may arise.

We bring this experience, knowledge, security, care and absolute responsibility to your home.

We have both grown up with many pets in our lives since very young, including cats, dogs and horses (Candace has been involved in competing with horses for over 15 years since a youngster), so having pets and looking after them is second nature to us; in fact the reason we are now open to house sitting is we recently lost our 11.5year old rottweiller.

OUR PREVIOUS HOUSE SITTING EXPERIENCE

We have had the pleasure of being asked to house sit for many of our friends and contacts in Victoria, ranging from big & beautiful coastal homes, to inner suburban units, to regional properties with smaller village towns.

We love being in the garden and enjoy mowing, weeding & gardening. We also lovingly care for inside plants as well.

We have been involved in the professional training of dogs throughout our lives, including our dog aggressive Rottweiler in her early years. Candace has taken several dog psychology and training courses over the years too.

As our parents are heavily involved in the tourism industry with B&B accommodation, we have had the opportunity to manage the business in their absence; this means we understand the importance of dealing with any emergencies immediately, having the ability to think on our feet, being flexible and adaptable, show strong leadership, and be respectful.

OUR OWN PROPERTY EXPERIENCE

Over the years we have both owned our own homes as well as multiple investment properties between us. As such we are well used to:

* Caring for and maintaining property
* Indoor and outdoor plants, gardens, lawns and vegetable gardens
* The responsibility needed for the general running of a household

We have often been personally thanked by our landlords, for maintaining a beautiful, well-kept home on behalf of the landlord.

We both appreciate the importance and value of owning a home, possessions and pets.

Security and privacy are of utmost importance for us, and we fully appreciate it is for you as a home owner providing your home and possessions for house sitting. You can be completely assured your home and assets will be completely secure and your privacy maintained by us while we’re there.

We have both have a current police check done.

WHY WE WANT TO HOUSESIT

Simply put, we find ourselves at a stage in our lives ready to start planning for our next chapter – building an accommodation business and our home. To help us achieve this goal, we’d like to find the right home – and fur babies! – to look after like it’s our own, while we plan the next steps.

We both have a huge passion and love for all animals, and are both vegetarians. We love nothing more than being able to break up my work day - and relax in the evening - by taking dogs for walk and playing with them, or simply having cuddles in the evening with the furbabies. Read more...
