ABOUT US:

We are a responsible, reliable, tidy, non-smoking couple who are experienced house and pet sitters and enjoy a quieter life. We are well accustomed to a broad range of pets, from dogs and cats through to guinea pigs, lizards, snakes, mice, kangaroos, goats, sheep, lambs (requiring a lot of bottle feeding), deer, goats, cows, chickens, owls, rabbits, turtles, tropical fish, peacocks, finches, and parrots.
We've had pets all of our lives except for a few years when renting. As we're both health buffs and keen on walking and running, we love taking pets out for long walks. We have looked after a range of domestic and farm animals, including everything from farms to duplexes, houses, cottages and in a mixture of rural, isolated, and city settings.

OUR EXPERIENCE:
Although new to this house sitting site, we are not new to house sitting. In 2016 alone we have spent 3 months house sitting all around the world from Singapore, Athens, France, Barcelona. We worked online whilst we traveled and ran our properties as bed & breakfasts remotely (had staff to assist).

We go back to the family farm in rural New South Wales whenever possible to help out with shearing, drenching, crutching, fencing, lambing, bush fires…or whatever else is happening! Growing up on the farm meant handling sheep, dogs, chickens, goats, cows, and assisting with the deer farm. We are both level headed, resourceful, love nature and big open spaces, appreciate country values, and adore animals or all sorts.

Being home owners (and renovators), bed and breakfast operators, and long-time rental properties owners we:
• Have an understanding of the value that an owner has on their property;
• Are house proud and love a clean well-kept environment
• What makes a great guest and what also creates a great guest experience;
• Have managed household staff, having employed domestic and maintenance personnel;
• Have applied our skills in being practical problem solving with good common sense
• Can use our life experiences for problem solving any unexpected events; and
• Have better than basic house maintenance/gardening skills and have no fear in trying new things.

In addition to the above, we also ran a small home based business called the Healthy Home Company. One of the services was pet walking, minding and feeding in our local neighbourhood as we love animals, like to keep active, and December/January are always quiet/wind down times for our consulting work.

Both having professional backgrounds we have strengths in:
• Organisation;
• Communication;
• Computer skills to keep in touch with owners;
• Following instructions to the letter.

We like the idea of periodically emailing photos during our house-sits so that owners can get a ’pet/property fix’. Also, we can provide you with photos of our Australian home to show how we live and the standard of cleanliness we bring with us.

We will treat your home and pets with the same care and respect as you would treat it yourself and are fully committed to the code of conduct within this website, we always produce our police check and other private information to clients once an assignment has been agreed.

Our first priority is your pet's welfare and our most treasured feedback is when owners acknowledge that we did our very best to look after their pets as if they were our own. We believe in spending as much time as possible with your pets during our sits, we do not leave them alone for longer than is absolutely necessary.

WHY WE LOVE HOUSE SITTING
After a hectic career with a lot of work in the corporate environment, we have redesigned our lives so that our work is location independent and we take ‘mini-retirements’ when we need to recharge. We have also realised that both of us living and working from home also means we need to mix it up when we can. We do not have children, so we have focused on career, friends, family and travel.

Caring for someone’s home and pets allows us to experience being part of a community, enabling us to relax whilst bringing the meaning to ‘home away from home’. This is what we prefer to vacationing in a crowded resort that completely lacks character. We know it’s an absolute privilege to be entrusted with someone’s valued possessions, previous home and family fur-members and we are always respectful and never take this for granted.
