My husband is a Professor at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada, I semi-retired, and our daughter and her friend are Uni students and avid pet lovers. We are available January 1- March 26, 2018 and hoping to experience a real Australian home, and would love pets, as they truly make a house a home.!

Our house is at base of a mountain and my husband hikes up daily to the university and plays Over-50's soccer(football in Oz). I do yoga, organic gardening, house renovating and am a writer. Our daughter, Fiona, works part-time at Kumon teaching young ones Math & Spelling and is an instructor at a bicycle camp. Her friend, Tabitha works at a cinema. They are on a Gap year.

My daughter has been pet-sitting a cat, a collie and a collie/husky cross and fish. This involves sleeping over and caring for them, including long walks on the mountain trails.. Her friend has 2 dogs - chihuahua and a cocker spaniel/King James spaniel cross, who loves to snuggle. I am an "aunty" to two Shih Tzu Bijon sisters and love walking them and of course cuddling. We have also owned mice and fish.

We have taken care of sabbatical homes in Burnaby, BC, Melbourne, Bristol, England, and Durham, North Carolina, U.S.A., which involved pet sitting, gardening and regular maintenance. We are currently looking for someone to take care of our house while we are away, so appreciate how important it is to feel that your pets and home are in safe and competent hands while you are away.
We are non-smokers, eco-sensitive, have police checks, and can certainly provide references. We have owned our home near the University for over 18 years. Read more...
