Hi and thank you for reading our profile to get to know us.

We are Gavin and Mandy from Brisbane. We are a mature couple (in our 50’s) and empty nesters as our 2 adult children are now happily leading their own lives.

We recently sold our house in Brisbane, and whilst we take some time out to plan the next chapter of our lives, we have been helping others by looking after their home and animals as if they were our own.

We are experienced house sitters and have wonderful references from those we have helped to confirm this. A number of families have also asked us back which has been great.

Prior to that we regularly helped out friends and family with pet and house sitting, checking on homes, clearing mail boxes etc during their times away.

We have current police certificates and can provide character references from previous house sits on request.

A bit about us:

Gavin – I am a work place trainer specialising in business management and human resources. I work from home mostly and travel from business to business in the greater Brisbane/Sunshine and Gold Coast area. I also hold a current Working with Children Blue Card.

Mandy – I spent the past couple of years finishing renovations on our recently sold home, caring for my mother in law (recently deceased), studying holistic therapies and making handmade natural (chemical free) soaps. Prior to that, I held Senior Administration roles, the last as PA to CEO. I am now pursuing self-employment opportunities, which is enabling me to spend more time at home.

As we both don’t have to drive to the office each day, location is flexible for us (we would like to remain within the Brisbane/Sunshine and Gold Coast area at this stage) so you can be assured that your home will be more secure and your animals will have lots of attention.

We are very house proud, clean and tidy people. We lived in our last house for 15 years, and renovated it over this time into a lovely place to unwind and relax.

We enjoy the company of animals and although we currently do not have any pets, we have had cats, dogs, birds and fish at different times since childhood. We attracted the local birds and possums at our last home with the magpies being so confident with us they came inside and possums came by some nights for a banana or other treat! We do miss them. We have had some contact with other animals (eg: horses, alpacas and chickens) and would relish the opportunity to personally care for them and learn more about their particular needs.

We enjoy traveling and look forward to doing lots more of that in the future. We love music, movies, spending time with family and friends, getting outdoors, and exploring new things. Around the home we have enjoyed renovating and gardening and turning old into new.

We are non- smokers, both in good health, have a great sense of humour, are culturally aware, very honest, reliable and trustworthy, also very respectful of others property.

We would love to look after your pets and home so you can be confident and have peace of mind that everything is in good hands while you are away.
