More information about this house sitter
Hello from Cait & Glenn
Thank you for taking the time to read our profile.
We are a warm, reliable, semi-retired couple embarking on an exciting chapter of life in 2026/27, travelling Australia at a relaxed pace and enjoying the opportunity to care for beautiful homes and much-loved pets along the way.
After renting out our much-loved rural property on Tasmania's stunning east coast, we've embraced our "semi-grey nomad" adventure, travelling with our compact Opus camper trailer (5.5 metres including the drawbar). Our itinerary is intentionally flexible, allowing us to stay longer in places we love and commit fully to caring for your home and animals.
Animal lovers through and through!
Dogs have been a treasured part of both our lives for as long as we can remember. We've shared our homes with a variety of breeds over the years, and understand that every dog has its own personality, routine and little quirks. Whether your companion enjoys long daily walks, energetic games of fetch, quiet cuddles on the lounge or simply having someone nearby, we'll happily tailor our care to suit them.
We genuinely enjoy being active and spend much of our own time walking, hiking, cycling and kayaking, so energetic dogs are very welcome companions on our daily adventures.
We're also experienced caring for chickens, horses, fish, birds and a variety of other animals, so mixed households are absolutely no problem.
(Please note that, unfortunately, Cait has a genuine allergy to cats, so we aren't able to accept cat sits.)
Caring for your home as if it were our own -
Owning and maintaining a rural property has taught us to be practical, resourceful and proactive. We're comfortable managing:
Rural and residential properties
Rainwater tanks and septic systems
Lawns, mowing and whipper snipping
Vegetable gardens and established gardens
Indoor and outdoor plants
Swimming pools
General property maintenance and presentation
We genuinely enjoy gardening and understand the satisfaction that comes from arriving home to healthy plants, tidy gardens and a well-cared-for property.
Who we are-
Before slowing life down a little, we both enjoyed long professional careers.
Cait continues to work casually as a teacher and educational consultant, bringing with her a lifelong commitment to responsibility, organisation and caring for others. She holds current National Police, Working With Children and teacher clearances.
We are both house proud, organised and respectful people who value honesty, kindness and clear communication. We don't smoke, we live quietly, and we understand that being entrusted with someone's home is both a privilege and a responsibility.
We love the outdoors, discovering new places, meeting wonderful people, listening to live jazz whenever we can, and making memories rather than collecting possessions. Family remains incredibly important to us, and although our children are now adults, we stay closely connected.
What you can expect from us-
If we are fortunate enough to care for your home, you can expect us to:
Love and care for your pets as though they were our own.
Maintain your routines to keep your pets happy and settled.
Keep your home clean, secure and well presented.
Care for your gardens, lawns and plants.
Communicate regularly with updates and photos if you'd like them.
Be fully present throughout the house sit, giving our complete attention to your home and animals.
Our goal is simple: we want you to leave knowing everything at home is being genuinely cared for, allowing you to relax and enjoy your own time away with complete peace of mind.
We would be honoured to look after your home and your treasured companions, and we hope to meet you soon.
If a virtual meeting first up is something you are keen to do, we are more than happy to facilitate this. Where possible we can also do a meet and greet prior.
Carpe Diem!
Warm regards,
Cait & Glenn Read more...
