More InformationWe are your classic grey nomads. We left Albury in September 2016 to do a leisurely trip around Australia. We have been on the road for almost three years and probably have another year to go before we settle down in our recently purchased apartment in Runaway Bay, Queensland. Gary owned a 70 acre farm for 15 years before selling up in 2013 and moving in with Jacky to live in Albury. At the time Jacky was employed as a residential care worker working with children at risk with one employer and was also employed as a social support facilitator with aged people with another employer. Gary had his own business testing electrical appliances for 10 years before selling the business and retiring. We are both fit and healthy and have decided to do this trip whilst we still enjoy that health. We have decided to do some house and pet sitting for two reasons. The first reason is to reduce our travelling expenses and at the same time we get to live in areas that we would not normally be able to live in whilst travelling in a caravan.
Gary is a competent handyman and is also able to maintain all types of machinery.
Gary has also had experience with swimming pools and is able to keep a pool healthy as well as being able to repair pumps etc.
Jacky is a fastidious housekeeper.
Jacky has a current drivers licence and Gary holds a heavy rigid licence.
Because we are living in a caravan while we are travelling we would be happily to live in the van at your premises or if you prefer we can live in your premises and put the van into storage.
HOUSE SITTING EXPERIENCE
Jacky- Various homes over a 16 month period whilst building a home. Cared for various pets, watered garden, mowed lawns & cleaned pool. Both of us spent three weeks at Bamboo Station. A 250,000 acre cattle station near Coen in Cape York. We spent the first two weeks with the owners doing everything from housekeeping to repairing farm machinery. In the third week the owners went to Cairns on business and in that time we spent the bulk of that time looking after the horses, working dogs etc whilst still doing the usual farm chores.
We have just successfully completed a six week house & pet sit at Lower Chittering and we are looking to our next assignment
