More information about this house sitter

We are Dan and Van- a happy couple in our early 50's who are ready to explore Australia now that the children have grown up.
Vanessa is a Registered Nurse (ED) and Registered Midwife and our plan is for her to work at local hospitals as we travel around Australia.
Dan is a qualified Patient Transport Officer and has a Diploma in Horse Racing, however we envision he will focus on staying at home caring for the property and animals we are charged with.
We are both fit and active and love all animals. We have 2 dogs- Buddy a border collie and Holly; a rescue dog who is at least part border collie who we walk twice per day. They are both well socialised and obedient and are happy living inside or outside. They will be accompanying us as we travel and are fully vaccinated, desexed and on a regular worming, flea and heart worm program.
We have experience with a variety of animals- Dan grew up at Flemington racecourse where his father trained horses, before he started training himself in regional Victoria. He has just returned from Japan after a boutique stud farm recruited him for the season to oversee the foaling down of several valuable mares.
Vanessa has ridden since a young age and shown and judged horses as well as managing a horse breaking business. She has formal qualifications in Horse Husbandry and Horse Management. We have horses of our own including a 33 yo Thoroughbred who we have owned for 26 years! They will be staying home while we travel. Vanessa also grew up on her parents farm where she helped with their cattle and sheep. We have had cats in the past and love all animals.
We are open to house sits anywhere around Australia depending on our location at the time however prefer properties where there is a hospital within half an hour drive for Vanessa to work at.
We are non smokers, quiet and respectful. We are very clean and tidy and take pride in our own home and farm and will look after your property to the same high standard. We have a bright outlook on life and can't wait to explore your part of the world!
Although we prefer sits for longer periods, we may be able to perform shorter sits if we are near your area.
