We are a couple in our early 50's, recently just returned from travelling full time around Australia. Home is in the Dandenong Ranges in Victoria, our property is on an acre and we enjoy spending time in our garden and taking pride in our veggie patch. We are very much animal lovers, but we don’t have any real pets, just a family of kookaburras and king parrots that have adopted us as part of their family. We also don't have children, which is why we've been able to tour around Australia!

We are both house proud and like things to be clean, neat and tidy. This has been especially important as we are currently living in a camper trailer, so we have to be organised, neat and clutter free!

Our hobbies (apart from travelling) include bush walking, 4x4ing and scuba diving, all of which we've been doing heaps of whist travelling the country. We've managed to get to some pretty remote places overland and sea, and seen some amazing sights on our travels!

On our travels we took the opportunity to stay in a location and explore it more by taking on some house sits. Now we are back in Victoria we are looking to explore a little more around our home turf and see a few different places. We both work remotely for a percentage of our time and generally will be looking for extended weekends. So far, we have minded a small farm in the South West of WA (9 acres), complete with cats, sheep and fruit trees to look after. A semi remote property in far North Queensland, where we looked after an acre property with a dog (who loved long runs along the beach) a couple of birds and a bunch of fish. A large farm west of Brisbane, where we looked after 5 Labradors and 12 horses a suburban house in South Brisbane where we looked after a couple of little spaniels that think they are human, and in Logan Queensland we were looked after by a Wolfhound, Rottie and a Pug! Even since coming back we’ve been down to Phillip Island to look after a chook, a cat and a very nervous poodle (who was great after he got to know us)!

Speaking of which we are great with animals and know that part of the deal with house sitting is ensuring that your pets get the love, attention and exercise that they need, as well as being feed. We love animals of all sorts and have looked after dogs, cats, chickens, birds, sheep, horses and fish.

We've both worked extremely hard in our careers to be in a position where we can go travel Australia the way we have and to have a property like we do, so we appreciate that you have worked hard too for what you have. For us, looking after your property and pets is a responsibility that we take extremely seriously and will respect your place like it was our own. We understand the need to get the right people, we have house sitters looking after our place whist we are away as well, so we know the trust that you put in us. Read more...
