Looking for a Melbourne area sit - 24/9/17 to 1st or 2nd Oct '17 ( since booked - thanks Sam & Mindahome :) )

We are new to Mindahome, but not to pet-sitting websites. We are 'house-sitting' members of:

* Happy House Sitters

My name is John & my lovely partner is Fiona. We live in Katoomba, in the Blue Mountains, 100 kms west of Sydney. We were not frequent travelers, but our son made the move to Melbourne about 2 years ago, so we are finding ourselves at the airport far more regularly than we were used to. Previously, we have just been staying in motels or guesthouses for our visits, & just had a try at AirBNB, until a friend of ours told us about house sitting websites - and it sounded like such a great idea to us. To offer some reliable house & pet care help to house owners whilst they are away, & receive some accommodation help in return.

I completed my first house/pet-sit for Fran's special friend, 'Fiona the Labrador' & her house in Geelong, VIC for 5 days in August' 16, through 'Happy House Sitters. Fran has left me a lovely reference (check it out if you are a member of that site ) & has also said she would be very happy to take a call from any house/pet owners thinking about me as a prospective sitter. I (& Fiona) have done privately arranged repeat house sits for Fran in Geelong (Jan 2017 & April 2017) & I am also booked to do another in July 2017.

I've also completed a sit for Ariana & her dog Taj & cat Satch at Riddells Creek VIC , through 'Aussie House Sitters'(Dec 2016 - Jan 2017). Ariana, too, left a lovely reference for me regarding my house sit. Ariana contacted me after that sit to see if I could do another sit for her recently, but I was unable to fit in with the dates she required - unfortunately. Ariana has said that she'd be very happy to provide an email/phone reference to anyone thinking of me/us as prospective house/pet sitters.

So - me (John)... I was born & have lived in Katoomba for most of my life. I have been a registered 'Justice of the Peace' since 1990. Up until recently, I was managing and driving a transport taxi service for people with disabilities here in Katoomba (for just on 24 years) on a full-time basis. I have received a few community awards in relation to this - in 2000 a NSW Seniors Week Blue Mts City Council Community Services Award, & in 2002, a 'NSW Seniors Week Premiers Award' and also a 'Rotary Club Pride of Workmanship - Certificate of Appreciation' award.' I am now working casually with the taxi company, as well as doing casual work looking after people with disabilities & also doing casual local dog sitting jobs. I decided that I wanted a bit of a variety / better work / life balance, and.... working casually in a variety of areas allows me to do this. It also allows me to visit my son a bit more.

Fiona is a fabulously talented wildlife artist - and such a great lady - that just sums her up - nothing else for me to say about her. ;) google 'Fiona Lumsden Wildlife Artist' if you are interested in checking out some of her artwork.

So - what we can offer to you - the house & pet owner ???..... a reliable, clean, pet loving, non-smoking, non-partying tidy couple, who will do what we say we will. Pet care, dog walking, garden watering, house looking after etc etc. Police checks & references available.
