More information about this house sitter

We are a retired professional couple based in Brisbane, non-smokers, and we have our own car. Judith is currently a Red Cross Emergency volunteer so has a current police criminal history check.

We are interested in short term house and pet sits of up to a couple of weeks.

We love life, and for us that includes animals, clean, tidy homes, gardens, bush walking, cycling, canoeing, travelling, volunteering, meeting new people and generally trying new experiences.

As homeowners for 32 years and pet carers (they owned us!) for 20 years, we know how important it is to trust someone with your much loved house and fur family and to know that they are being cared for as you would care for them.

We both grew up with cats and dogs and had two much loved family cats (a crazy Burmese who thought he was a dog and a sweet tempered rescue cat) as our children grew up. Since then, we’ve become cat and kitten foster carers with the RSPCA. It’s quite hard work looking after the tiny kittens, but incredibly fun and rewarding to help them learn to socialise before finding their own family. We also love the opportunities we have for play with our friends’ dogs. There are Border Collies, a Jack Russell, Labradors and Staffies and it always makes us wish we could take one home but as we now travel a lot, it just wouldn’t be fair.

We still have a family home that we treasure and we enjoy keeping it ready to share with family and friends. We have always done the cleaning, gardening and pool maintenance ourselves, and we do as much DIY as we can.

We are trustworthy, honest people and we’re looking forward to caring for more homes and pets. You can leave them with us, knowing that we will look after them as if they were our own and trust us to keep you updated with news and photos if you would like to stay in touch.

During some of our travels we’ve had opportunities to house sit for friends and stay with a French family as Workaway volunteers. Our approach is proactive – we pitch in to do whatever needs to be done and we take pride in leaving anywhere we stay exactly as we found it.
