My house sitting adventures started after my flat mate got engaged and it was time to move out when she got married. Friends of mine were going overseas for 6 months and I had the pleasure of looking after their town house and their puppy.

I am a very neat, tidy and clean person. I like to have my things in order and be organised. House sitting to me is my home away from home, so I treat it with the same respect as I do my own. I am a non-smoker and reliable.

I live in the Central West of NSW based in Wellington and have been house sitting again after settling in from moving here from the South Coast of NSW some 20 months ago now. I currently live on-site at my work place and are loving the country life. On my roster I am often required to stay on-site up to 2 nights a week on-call. I have a fenced in and secure back yard at the staff residence so if dogs are happy travellers I can take them to work with me either just when I'm on-call or if the owners are happy, I can take them with me to work and bring them home again so they aren't home alone all day. There are some great walks I like to do after work.

Previously, I was house sitting in the Shoalhaven area full time for 16 months. House sits varied in location but mainly in and around Berry NSW with dogs, cats, horses and chickens.

I am a very active person, love hiking and cycling. But I also enjoy reading, painting and playing guitar. I do enjoy animals, I've grown up with animals around me all my life, dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens and fish! I understand how they very much become part of the family and the anxiety it causes when you go away on holidays. The advantage of having a house sitter is the benefit of the peace of mind that your home is being cared for, but also that your loved ones are in their natural environment causing less stress on their daily routine.

I enjoy travelling around and having the opportunity to see different places that I wouldn't usually visit. So far I have seen some amazing homes down streets I'd never think of visiting and sharing the most wonderful gardens with pets that have the most lovely personalities. In all, a holiday away from home.

I prefer the longer house sits with the opportunity to be in the one place for a longer period of time, although I do shorter sits also which gives me less chance to get attached to my new furry friends.
