More information about this house sitter

Hello,

My name is Sharon (59yrs), originally from the UK, I absolutely love animals and enjoy housesitting, having carried out assignments in Auckland, New Zealand and now WA, Victoria, Queensland and NSW. I consider NZ home after 16yrs, however, love Australia and would like to create a life here and see where it leads.

I arrived in Perth at the end of March 2019 and housesat for the first 7months. I settled in Mandurah, WA, for 2yrs and worked full-time. I am now keen to find my place on the stunning East Coast.

On my journey across the country, I have experienced many lovely housesits in Victoria and NSW, and also spent 6months in Ipswich QLD. My sits are generally longer term and I now have repeat sits, as I have been focused on the Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour area. I am now ready to consider long term housesits in other locations, as I have not found my place as yet. I work from home part-time so am flexible.

I have had great experiences housesitting, meeting some wonderful pets and people, and being totally trusted to take care of cats, dogs, horses, chickens, sheep, fish and a Llama and I absolutely love it! I especially enjoy being able to give people peace of mind whilst they are away, knowing their pets and home are safe and being well cared for. I really appreciate how important this is. I can provide excellent references.

I am a kind natured person, quiet but friendly, easy going and happy at home in the company of animals and being out in nature. I am self-sufficient, sensible, and great at problem solving, so can deal with issues should they arise. I am tech savvy and happy to send photos and WhatsApp to keep you in touch with your pets :)

I have owned 3 homes in the UK and have rented 3 properties in NZ, always long term and on good terms with the landlords, due to the pride I take in caring for and maintaining a property both inside and out. I enjoy spring cleaning and keeping a tidy garden. I have lived on larger properties with water tanks and retic, so am very capable and can use a ride on mower, whipper snipper (battery/electric preferred) etc.

I am eco-friendly, love nature, sailing, music, art, yoga and meditation with a keen interest in natural health. As a Reiki practitioner, I have provided Reiki to patients at Hospice and organised Natural Therapy talks in schools around Auckland, that are still being carried out today.

I have always been an animal lover, having had dogs growing up but never been in a position to own one myself, so have always had to borrow family/friends' dogs for walks etc. Cats found me when I moved to NZ, and I have taken in a number of abandoned kitties. I have also spent time volunteering at cat rescues too, so I have the gentle, patient nature required to make all animals feel loved and quickly at ease.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I am travelling with my little rescue cat, Tinkerbell, (approx 11yrs), which I appreciate is a little unusual! She found me as a kitten in NZ and is amazing. She is not your average cat, she is a timid female who is respectful of nature and her environment and will not wander far from me. She will pretty much find a favourite spot in the garden close to the house or under a bed/furniture, sleep and eat! Although she is long haired she is very low maintenance, doesn't shed and is a hypoallergenic breed. I am meticulously clean, have all my own bedding, blankets/throws etc.

I totally understand your home is your pets home first and foremost. I take time and care to ensure introductions are done at a gentle pace, so that there is no stress. Tinkerbell is very sweet, sensitive, gentle natured and will run from confrontation.

I take the responsibility of housesitting seriously, so would never leave your pets or home unattended for long periods or overnight.

I hope I have provided enough information to assure you that I am an open, honest person, totally reliable and trustworthy.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask, as I appreciate this is most important when entrusting your home and pets to a stranger. I am happy to arrange a visit within a reasonable distance or video call if not.

I am a non-smoker and can only accept assignments in non-smoking homes as I am sensitive to smoke and the smell of nicotine sorry :)

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I look forward to hearing from you!

Kind regards
Sharon
