We are a mature, family-oriented couple who prioritize staying active and enjoying life to the fullest. Our interests include kayaking, bike riding, swimming, body surfing, and camping (Des also enjoys hang gliding). We lead a healthy lifestyle and abstain from smoking and drinking, with our only indulgence being the simple joy of living.

Honesty and reliability are paramount to us, and we promise to maintain your pets, home, and gardens with meticulous care. I am particularly fastidious about housekeeping, ensuring that your home remains clean and well-maintained throughout our stay. We deeply respect the privacy and dignity of your home and will treat it accordingly.

Our primary residence is in Geraldton. Currently, our pets (chickens we raised from eggs) are happily adopted by our daughter while we assist an aging parent in Mandurah.

Des is semi-retired and works as a casual Airport Manager with fly-in/fly-out assignments, managing mine site airports. Kathie dedicates her time to enjoying life and assisting Des’ mother, handling most of the house-sitting responsibilities while Des joins in between his commitments.

We have extensive experience in private house sitting and pet care over many years. We cherish the homely atmosphere that house sitting provides, especially the companionship and affection of your beloved pets. Whether it's daily care routines, administering medication, or providing therapeutic activities, we are committed to meeting all your pets’ needs.

Recently, we have been engaged in a private sit, caring for 3 guinea pigs and an elderly dog. Our routine includes setting up the guinea pigs each morning in their outdoor pens with fresh fabric tunnels, food, and water, and ensuring they are comfortable indoors at night. Diesel the dog enjoys daily walks and beach outings, and has formed a special bond with Kathie.

We have also managed a hobby farm in Tasmania multiple times, caring for cattle, sheep, goats, and chickens. Though challenging, particularly in the Tasmanian cold, we find great joy in the experience and have returned to care for the farm repeatedly. Please note, however, that we do not have experience with horses.

Dogs hold a special place in our hearts, although we have also cared for and loved cats in the past, Des is allergic to them. Des is adept at basic home maintenance tasks such as fixing leaky taps, door handles, and hinges, and is always willing to assist where needed.

For peace of mind, Kathie holds a Police Clearance and Des possesses ASIC Card (an Aviation Security ID). References and additional clearances are available upon request.
