Hi I'm Astrid, lovely to meet you!

I’m a nature-loving creative with a deep affection for animals, gardens, slow living and exploring new places. Originally from the stunning landscapes of Patagonia, Chile, I’ve called Australia home for over 14 years.
Professionally, I work remotely as a graphic designer (google astridmendress) and I also have a strong passion for puppeteering. My solo show The Pilgrim has toured internationally – feel free to check out “The Pilgrim’s Cabinet” on Instagram or Vimeo to see my work.
I have a long-standing connection with plants, animals and all things nature. Forest bathing, meditation and yoga (which I’ve practiced for over 20 years) are a big part of my life. I’m physically active, not afraid of a bit of hard work and always happy to get my hands dirty when needed.
I’ve been house and pet sitting for years, previously with my partner, and have loved every minute of it. I’ve recently returned to the house sitting world after spending some time in my hometown. While I wasn’t active on this platform during that period, I’m now fully available again and excited to reconnect with the community, ready to offer attentive care to new homes and furry friends.
While I’m now sitting solo, I bring the same care, responsibility and respect to every home. I'm tidy, considerate and enjoy a peaceful, grounded lifestyle. I take great pride in the upkeep of the properties I look after and I can provide both personal and professional references to vouch for my services.
