Lover of nature and animals large and small!

Young at heart and mind, fit and healthy, non smoker, happy disposition, outgoing, trustworthy, ethical and love to experience new places and meet people.
Widowed and divorced, I was a sole parent of 2 son's, employed in Community Services and carer to aged parents for over 25 years.
My son's are now grown and secure with their own families and my parents passed many years ago so now I am free and available to commit to taking extra special care of your animals, plants and homes.
As a sole parent for a long time, I am very security conscious and aware. You will be very happy with my care of your property and beloved furry or feathered family.
I have owned my own houses and as my work took me to different area's over the years, switched to renting for convenience and cared for the properties I lived in, improved gardens and took care of the place as my own.
All my landlords and agents have been ecstatic at my level of care, improvement and upkeep of their properties and the last rental of 6 & 1/2 years was on 15 acres, with horses, miniature cattle, dogs, chooks and geese. My old cat died at 15 years in February 2015 and my beloved old dog died at 13 many years ago. Taking care of animals fulfills my yearning for others (for now).
Born, bred and lived in the South West of Western Australia most of my life with stints in the North West and Metro area's,
After traveling to NSW in 2015 to begin my housesitting and travel adventure, I spent 14 months on the East Coast, 8 of those being around Cairns, Ravenshoe, Atherton Tablelands Qld and the far North (Qld),
When deciding to 'head home' to WA due to an illness in the family, I drove across 'the top' to Darwin NT and spent a month in Humpty Doo, another month in Kununurra WA (Top End), then 10 days in Broome before a road trip back to Perth.
After spending 7 weeks in a small coastal community South of Perth WA, I returned to my home town to spend time with my eldest son and family for Christmas 2016. As it happened, my eldest sister passed on while I was there so we had an unexpected funeral and I returned to North of Perth to stay with my niece.
Since then I traveled further South into the Great Southern Region for more adventures with new housesits, regions and animals.
Back on track, I traveled from Perth WA, on the Indian Pacific to Adelaide SA to continue my adventures in November 2017. Then spent 7 months around Victor Harbour, Yankalilla, Adelaide Hills, Adelaide and North of Clare Valley.
After more than 3 years on the road around Australia I decided to return to WA and continue housesitting in my home state. At this point in time I've been housesitting full time for almost 6 years.
These travels have been a long time dream for me and I feel privileged and humbled to have photographed the sights and met lovely people and their furry (or otherwise) families on my travels.
Now I've returned to WA, I only commit to housesits of more than 4 weeks upwards and due to my traveling lifestyle and not knowing where I'll be in 4 or 6 months I don't book more than 1 month ahead of time.
If I commit to a sit it would take a desperate emergency for me to cancel.

I have my own vehicle.

"We have used Mindahome for some time now, and each time every sitter has done the job of caring for our animals, however when I first met Kaye I knew she was something very special, she cared for our two small dogs and our fluffy cat so well they missed her when she moved on. I miss her as well as I found Kaye so amazing, it was like she was part of our family . Without going into the boring details, I just want to say if you should be fortunate enough to have Kaye to do a house sit, it will be the most rewarding, caring, wonderful experience for your animal family, your home, and you get to the holiday knowing Kaye is in control.
Thank you Kaye

"I found Kaye at the perfect time. She stayed at my place and looked after my 2 dogs, a Pomeranian and a silky cross, for a month.
I found Kaye to be trustworthy, caring and honest. When she sent me photos of the dogs, I could tell that they were happy and content.
The whole process took away the worry about leaving my dogs whilst I went away on holiday. I knew she was looking after them the way I would look after them myself.
When I returned, I witnessed her extra service of making my home shiny and spotless.
I highly recommend Kaye as a house/dog sitter and would definitely use her again if the opportunity arose.
Jill Harrison,Pottsville Nth NSW" 2015

"We were very happy with the house sitting services provided by Kaye. Her love of animals and conscientious , friendly nature make her the ideal house sitter, and we cannot recommend her highly enough. We came home to a spotless house and a very happy dog who had obviously been cared for and played with whilst we were away. Many thanks for all of your efforts Kaye.
Best regards

"To Who it May Concern: Re Kaye
Kaye recently house/dog sat for us for a period of six weeks from early October to mid November 2015 here on the Tamborine Mountain, Queensland...........she was quite simply outstanding in all respects. Our dogs barely knew we were gone....... such was her care for them. We arrived home to find two happy and contended dogs, smelling fresh and clean from a recent shampoo. All their needs were duly met including twice daily feeding, love and huggles, long walks, visits to the local dog park (3-4 times per week) so they could continue to socialise with their furry friends during our absence.
Our young dog Arjuni was particularly smitten with Kaye, which shows the time and attention she took with him, he barely glanced sideways at my husband and I upon our return home !!!!!! Says it all really :-)
The cottage was spotless, even fresh flowers to greet us in the kitchen, everything as it should be.......Kaye had even changed the sheets and covers on the bed she used, washed the 'doggy' couch covers, etc, ensuring there was no dirty laundry left for me to deal with. What excellent service.
Kaye stayed in regular contact with us during our time away via text and emails, keeping us updated about things on 'the home front'. The photos she forwarded of the dogs were an added bonus and warmed our hearts.
I would thoroughly recommend Kaye to anyone looking for a responsible and caring house sitter........Kaye goes above and beyond all house sitters we have had in the past.
I wish her well for the future and in her travels

"Thank you Kaye for taking such wonderful care of my 2 darling doggies Teddy and Pixie. It was wonderful to come home and know they were so happy with you and also the care you took of my home and garden.
Can't thank you enough, and I'm sure any future house owners will be as happy as I have been."

"Kaye house sat for us while we were away in Canada and the USA for 6 weeks. This was the first time that we had some one house sit for us and must say the she really made the experience very simple and us feel safe about leaving our house with a "stranger".
She arrived a day earlier to settle in while we were home and to learn routines and with our dogs feeding walking etc. Her approach was to try and do everything the same so not to put the animals out to much.
As we had never used this service before , both my partner and I were very impressed at how awesome and professional Kaye was when she settled in. She knew what thing she needed to ask and know before we left which was extremely re-assuring.
While we were away she provided us with very numerous updates on the house and how our animals were traveling as well as emailing us pictures of dogs. When returned home I am sure that the house was in better and cleaner condition that when we left.
Our experience with Kaye was absolutely amazing, completely faultless to be honest. We would highly recommend her as a house sitter and will definitely get her back next time we travel.
Please don't hesitate to call us if you would like any further re-assurance.

"Kaye was a fantastic house sitter. She looked after everything as if it were her own. The house was kept clean and tidy and it was reassuring whilst we were away to know it was in safe hands. I would recommend Kaye to everyone.

"Housesit reference Kaye :
Kaye looked after our home and acreage including a large swimming pool. She did an excellent job in all aspects of house minding and left the home much tidier than when she arrived. I found Kaye to be personable, efficient and reliable and would happily recommend her for house sitting. I am available via email or phone as a reference for Kaye.

"25th July, 2016
To Whom It May Concern:
We have a small farm in the Atherton Tablelands, Far North QLD and have had the pleasure of Kaye being our house sitter not once but twice for our farm.
Kaye is an extremely reliable and honest person who treated our home as if it were her own. Kaye took on the responsibility of our animals including sheep, cows and chickens as well as tending to our large garden. She is very clean and tidy.
After her first sit for us we were so happy with her that we invited her back for a second sit. I would highly recommend Kaye and am happy to be contacted should you wish to discuss any details further.
Yours faithfully,
Mark and Dallas Roesler Atherton Tablelands Qld"

"Kaye stayed with our Family in Darwin for a four week period, she helped with our animals, horse, chickens, rabbit, Guinea pig and dogs and our two children in the afternoons, she gardened and kept our place very tidy. I can highly recommend Kaye for any house, pet or children sitting!

"It is with sincerity that I can recommend Kaye as a House sitter. Kaye looked after my house for 4 weeks while I was away and was great. From the beginning she was punctual, helpful (gave me a lift to the airport), informed me of anything out of the ordinary and kept the house and property in excellent condition.
Thanks again Kaye.

"I can't thank you enough for taking care of our home and pet family while we were away.
Life away from Broome sometimes seems as if it is a world away and it is hard for me to think about our home when we are away from it- having someone like you there to take care of things meant more than you know to us.
Sadly our trip was not what we were hoping and was filled with many unexpected things which were both sad and stressful. Thank you so much for constantly keeping the lines of communication open and letting us know how everything was going.
Even though we never personally met you, I always felt happy and comfortable about the lady who was looking after our place.
Thanks for your advice about the animals too, we have already started to put these into place.
Brenton said the house was spotless when he returned and I only hope that he has it spotless for my return!!!!
All the best to you Kaye on your future travels. I'm sure the universe will be very good to a kind and honest person like yourself. If you ever find yourself in Broome again, please give us a call.
Thanks again,

"To whom it may concern
If you have the opportunity to have Kaye housesit for you, expect a stress free holiday. She took wonderful care of my dog Jack and the house was super clean when I got home. Gardens were in better condition than when I left, and she kept in contact while I was away. Even helped my neighbours. A kind, considerate trustworthy sitter

"Hi Kaye,
Thank you so much for looking after Roger and Fletch so well and house. It was fabulous to come home last night to a made up bed and spotless house and very happy cats.
All the best,
Rayna Dalyellup WA" 2016-17

I have recently returned from a 2 month, mostly unplanned trip to Tamworth in NSW to care for my brother who is going through a medical crisis. For the first month of my time away I had organised my son, my daughter, my friends and my neighbors to care for my house/property and my 2 dogs. In a nutshell it was a pain in the rear end. So much to organise with keys, watering regimes, feeding the dogs and general 'security issues'. I had to split the dogs up with one here and the other there. In the end I had to fly home to sort the whole thing out.
A friend suggested I try a house sitter, I had never having given it serious thought as I live in a somewhat isolated location but was between a rock and a hard place so I did it. I signed up with some trepidation... Kaye responded within a very short time, left me a message with her phone number. I called her the following day and we seemed to get through an enlightening conversation (for me), I had no idea of what the protocol for this kind of thing, let alone the right questions to ask. But Kaye prevailed through my ignorance and we struck a 'deal'. After a couple of more conversations I willingly gave the 'sit' to Kaye.... BEST THING EVER !!!
Kaye offered me references, police clearances and testimonies from other clients, all of which was unneeded by me as the one thing I did know that by her being a registered house sitter, all of those things would have been taken care of.
Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to meet Kaye in person prior to my departure, but we had each other's contact details and were in contact most days, as I had requested.
Kaye astounded me with her free spirit and willingness to stay in my isolated home... so, after another month on the far side of the country, I have returned home. My house is spotless, my dogs are very happy and contented. It's almost as if I had been only gone for an afternoon. After the initial 5 minute burst of madness, the dogs had returned to their favourite 'spots' and the welcome was finished.
Once again the vagaries of travelling meant that I am still to meet Kaye face to face, but feel I know her quite well. We will organise to meet in the near future when she is sitting another house in the region. In so saying, Huge kudos to you Kaye, you've done a great service to myself and my pets. I would not hesitate to call on you in the future for house sitting duties. Your trustworthy and caring nature is a standout.
My immense gratitude goes to you, as does Bailey and Bonnie... thanks
Grant - Napier WA 2017

Kaye came to house sit at a very busy time and all I can say is what a wonderful person Kaye is…she helped with all manner of tasks and I truly felt each day that the farm was in extremely capable hands. Between looking after the alpaca herd, gardens and a high maintenance kelpie dog, Kaye also made the house clean and tidy and improved the garden beds! Her constant thoughtfulness was second to none and I know anyone who meets Kaye will be touched by her kindness and ability to take care of everything while they are away. I would certainly recommend Kaye to anyone wanting a holiday knowing their pets and property are all in excellent hands.
Thank you

"Kaye is charming, competent and gifted with animals. We entrusted our highly-strung rescue dog and our home to Kaye for five weeks. We came back to a very happy dog and an extremely tidy and clean house. Kaye is not only very conscientious but kind and most importantly, trustworthy. We can highly recommend her.

"So happy to be told of the "Mindahome" site. Planned to be away for 5 to 6 weeks caravanning.
As we have a cat getting on in years and previously relied on family to look after her, we went on the site and placed an add. Within half an hour had a response and was put in touch with Kaye. Kaye kept in touch by phone or text, sending photos to reassure us Miss D was ok. Nothing was too much trouble. We were able to relax and enjoy our holiday knowing the cat and the house were well looked after. It was great to come home to a clean house and a happy and contented cat. Would definitely recommend Kaye. Thanks again Kaye, would use your services again in a heartbeat. All the best.

"Kaye came to housesit and look after our wonderful dog Jaz. We went overseas for 6 weeks and didn't worry at all knowing Kaye was spoiling Jaz more than we do. ???? We arrived home to a very happy and contented dog and a wonderfully kept home and garden. Kaye went way above the call of duty and did many little extras around the house and garden. Kaye is a very genuine and sincere person and we won't hesitate to call on her again.
Best wishes

"We would like to thank Kaye for taking extra ordinary care of our home and our fur babies. Kaye went above and beyond for us and we had upmost confidence in her abilities and genuine care. Unfortunately Kaye had to deal with a tricky tap, an air conditioner malfunction and a trip to the vet. She dealt with these things calmly and kept us in the loop. Our home and pets were cared for to the highest standard and with genuine care that was obvious from the moment we met Kaye. Upon our return the house, garden and pets were in a fantastic way (I could say better than we left them). Thank you Kaye We do not hesitate to recommend Kaye to anyone looking for a caring, respectful and genuine person to care for your home."

"Dear Kaye
Thank you indeed for house sitting for us for seven weeks. From the moment we met you, we felt certain you were the right person for our five acres and various ducks, alpacas, chooks and cat. We went off blithely and even though we heard that the 2018 summer had not ended as expected a few weeks after we left but was going on and on in extreme conditions through April, we were sure that you would rise to the challenges.
Indeed you did, going further than could have been expected, and putting in tireless hours with excellent results. The property was in tip top condition on our return home. The gardens had survived and flourished; the animals were content, tamed and in fine condition; and the house, well it will never be as tidy again as the way you left it! Everything clean, tidied and shining.
And the people who came to the house in our absence were also full of praise for how you dealt with them: the neighbours, our regular gardener and the people who bought eggs, all commented on your pleasant and cheerful personality.
Please feel free to use us as referees for anyone wanting your house sitting services in the future. There is no doubt of your integrity and honesty, and of your willingness to work, which you did with sensitivity to our wishes while still showing initiative.
We are happy for you to give our number to people wishing to check these comments. We’ll gladly speak with them as we know whoever you are sitting for in the future will be well pleased. We certainly are.
Sincerely, and very gratefully,
Lorraine and Peter"

"As I was travelling overseas for 4mths and my daughter was coming with me for the first 3weeks, a friend suggested that I search for a house sitter / pet sitter through Mindahome.
Through this site, I found Kaye.
Kaye advised she could stay for the first month until my daughter came back from our holiday together.
We confirmed the dates and Kaye arrived the day before our flight.
Kaye is a wonderful, compassionate, considerate person. When Kaye arrived, she went out of her way to reassure me that my home and fur babies were in extremely capable and caring hands.
My two dogs, Chara and Millie loved her from the start and my two cats, Lucy and Maggie, quickly warmed to her as well.
Kaye is extremely organized and brought her own bedding and food. She explained what her general daily routine would be with my dogs and the couple of rules she had with other people’s pets. Her only ask is that the pets do not sleep with her.
She advised that they would be walked every day taking into consideration the weather.
Chara and Millie are now much more well behaved on trips in the car thanks to Kaye taking them on their adventures.
While we were away, Kaye regularly sent photos of our fur babies to keep us up to date with their wellbeing. She checked in regularly with my friend as well on their wellbeing.
Unfortunately, the second week we were on holidays, our beloved cat, Maggie, who was quite elderly, became very ill. Kaye advised us of this and organized with my friend to take her to the vet. The prognosis wasn’t good and after a long discussion on the phone with Kaye, we decided to the most humane option was to have Maggie euthanized. It was heartbreaking to be so far away from our cat, Maggie, during this time, but Kaye was brilliant. She made sure that she was with Maggie during her last moments and we had organized to be on the phone with the vet during the procedure. Everyone cried. Kaye followed our wishes and brought back the collar and a little bit of hair from our beloved Maggie. I have nothing but praise and the utmost respect for Kaye.
As I was still overseas when Kaye was ready to move on to the next house sit, she made a video of our home and explained everything that she had done before leaving and sent it to me via email.
I would highly recommend Kaye as the person to choose to look after your home and your precious fur babies.
I know that when I travel again she will be the one I will contact first and foremost every single time."

"Kaye was the ideal house sitter and pet carer. She loved our ageing dog Casper and looked after him with genuine affection, making sure that despite his arthritis he was regularly exercised and properly fed. Kaye was always an excellent communicator, keeping in touch with us by email on a regular basis and reassuring us that both the house and Casper were being well looked after. She left the house in the condition that she found it, everything in its place, clean and tidy. For all these reasons we would strongly recommend Kaye to anyone in need of a house and pet carer."

"I just wanted to say thank you for looking after our house and pets so well. The house was lovely and tidy and much cleaner than it was when I left it (sorry about that - I'm hoping not to be so ill prior to our next trip so I can prepare properly!).
Our animals seemed very happy and settled and I know they loved having you here. It was a great load off my mind knowing they were being cared for well. Thanks also for the photo updates along the way.
Thank you also for cleaning the oven!!
We are hoping to travel again soon and would love you to come and care for our furbabies when we go away next.

"Kaye was a housesitter par excellence!! We were fortunate enough to receive a recommendation from Dawn and Rob who’s house Kaye was looking after at the time we were looking for a house sitter.
She was fantastic from our initial contact, right through to our return. Kaye looked after our 2 dogs, 3 cows and goldfish while we were away for 5 weeks. She kept in touch, sent regular updates and photos, and gave all the animals attention and love.
She was amazing with the garden and all plants. Kaye re-potted things, re-juvenated our vegetable garden and watered everything over summer. She also cared for our orchard, picking fruit and disposing of fallen fruit. She kept on top of everything and our place looked fantastic on our return.
Kaye is a capable, independent, caring, clean and proactive person. We were very fortunate to have Kaye as our housesitter. We have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone and would be happy to discuss on the phone.
All the best Kaye!

"Kaye - House Sitting Review - Feb/Mar 2019
Wow...Kaye is amazing. She looked after my home in Australind and my German Shepherd. I walked into the house after being away for 6 weeks and it was spotless. My gardens also look wonderful and have been well tendered too.
Kaye regularly kept me updated with what her and Sharntu were up to while I was away via emails and included photo's. Looks like they had lots of fun down the Estuary walking and swimming. Kaye was also kind enough to buy Sharntu some treats, a new brush and take her for a "doggy treatment". Sharntu looks so well looked after, being a long haired German Shepherd her coats needs a fair bit of TLC which she has obviously received.
Kaye definitely looks after everything as if it was her own and it is she a real connection to animals. I can not recommend Kaye highly enough...Thank you so much for looking after my home and dog...you have done an all round wonderful job.
All the very best with your House Sitting ventures...whatever home and animals get you are very lucky :)

"Without a moments hesitation I would highly recommend Kaye for any house/pet sitter, she is not only very competent but also very caring. Words will never describe the relief and enjoyment of finding Kaye, letting me leave my tribe of chickens, ducks, dogs and a the cat for a month.
Kaye not only kept in touch and did everything asked of her with care and duty going beyond what was expected. She also gave me great peace of mind knowing that everyone was happy and healthy.
So in a nutshell, if you want a caring, mindful, competent sitter book Kaye."

Kaye popped up at just the right moment - isn't it exciting how life works?! From the word go - Kaye was responsive, she listened and was very open and willing to make arrangements to get the house sitting plan underway. She has a great energy and is a lovely person who is independent and loves living her life so freely. She looked after our boy (dog) Nugget at our home for 12 days whilst me and partner went overseas. Kaye ensured the handover went smoothly - I cannot fault her. Gutted she isn't local but life has it's ways and maybe she will come back into our lives again soon. Upon our arrival back from our trip away, Kaye had left the house spotless and was always willing to do little jobs/chores around the home if requested. Absolutely would recommend!"

"We returned from a 7 week holiday to an absolutely spotless house and garden - so amazingly clean and tidy that we have a new appreciation for our own home!
Kaye takes her house and pet sitting assignments very seriously; she respects that she is staying in someone's home and is responsible for the care of their pets. She sent us photos and emails to let us know how our senior cat was doing - this was really thoughtful and greatly appreciated.
We were very fortunate to have Kaye house sit for us; she is reliable, trustworthy and thoughtful and we felt totally confident to leave our home and cat in her care - we would absolutely have Kaye sit for us again and highly recommend her - you will not be disappointed. Our cat loved Kaye and still meows at her door, waiting for her to return!!"

Dear Kaye
"Kaye is a great house sitter. She kept in regular contact while I was away with photos and updates of my 2 cats
The house was nice and clean when I got home, and the plants looked fresh and healthy.
Thank you so much for doing my sit. Everything looks great. I had both cats in bed with me last night. Miss B is being so smoochy . She hardly ever sleeps with me :)
I can't recommend Kaye highly enough, and you won't regret having her look after your home and pets. Thank you for once again looking after my babies and the house. It is so good to be able to go away and not have to worry about anything."

"Kaye went out of her way to help us out, after a previously arranged house-sit fell through, and after our own planned holiday was unexpectedly cut short; and house-sat our rural property for about three weeks in January 2020.
Kaye completed all requested tasks to the letter, gave us regular updates and she used her initiative to solve minor problems as they occurred.
We would not hesitate to recommend Kaye to any house-sitting position she applies for. We'd be happy to be contact for more information.

"Kaye has been such a delight to have for a housesitter, the most conscientious person we have met, who did such a fabulous job housesitting! She came in with only a couple of weeks notice, our animals loved her, and so did we! Our house and gardens were awesome when we got home, the animals very well cared for. We think they are already missing her! Kaye communicated with us throughout, even supplying photos of the fur and feathered babies, which was lovely. We would definitely have Kaye back in the future! "Kaye is an exceptional house sitter. She arrived the day before we left for our 4 week holiday. After showing her around our extensive gardens and introducing our pet chooks I could sense that we would be leaving our home in good hands. Whilst we were away she sent us pictures of the chooks and kept us well briefed. On return, the house was spotless, the pot plants all watered and the garden looking great. We have used many house sitters in the past, mostly good but some not so good. Kaye was definitely up there at the top of the scale. We enjoyed a very relaxed and stress free holiday knowing our home and pets were in her super capable hands. "
