More information about this house sitter

We have based ourselves in Perth for most of this year. Ideally for now, we are looking for a long term housesit not too far from Perth. But are interested in any you think might be of interest to us and yourselves.

Booked until the 3rd Feb 2026

We are very flexible with dates and extremely honest, responsible, clean, non smokers. Both retired.
Your home /pets will be well looked after, so you can be away without any concerns.
We always leave the homes we sit, spotless.

About us:
Since retiring, nearly 4 years ago, we have been travelling all over Australia in our caravan. In that time we have done many housesits/farm sits/caretaking positions.

We have many excellent references over that time that we can provide when we meet. Though I have included our latest housesitting reference here in Perth below.

Before retiring:
Rick was an Intensive care Paramedic in 3 different countries and I have worked in a cattery/dog kennels in the past and had a cleaning business, among many other jobs.

Rick also used to own hundreds of orchids, so your plants will be well looked after between the two of us. We also happy to mow lawns, whipper snipper and care for gardens.

Why we do housesits:
We had a Jack Russell for 15 years and loved her so much, we can’t replace her. It’s too hard saying goodbye, so this way, we get as much animal love we want.
It’s also an amazing way to experience life in new towns, cities and farm life around Australia.

We have looked after all sorts of animals from Dogs, cats cattle, horses, sheep, pigs, chickens and big bulls. We bottle fed 3 Poddy calves for 6 months, which was an amazing experience.

We have found it such a honour to look after very old animals. They need so much love and attention because they get so confused sometimes. Basically we love all animals and they give just as much love to us, as we give to them.

While in Perth doing housesits, our caravan is in storage.

Sue and her husband Rick house sat for 4 weeks for me over Dec 2025 - Jan 2026. I met Sue and Rick through mutual friends and immediately they both were very likeable and personable, and I knew my home was going to be in very caring hands.

On my return from holiday, the place was absolutely immaculate, plants were thriving, everything was so clean and it was a haven to return to. I could not have asked for more kind and considerate housesitters. Over the time I was away, they contacted me with any major concerns they had, which were easily sorted. They were also available to allow tradies to complete jobs, brought postage in, run my car regularly and cleared the rubbish bins as needed.

Alongside this. Rick was also incredibly helpful in fixing a couple of "technical issues" which I hadn't been able to sort.

I would highly recommend Sue and Rick to care for any home that needs a housesitter - you would be able to holiday knowing that your home is in very safe and considerate hands. If I could, I would give them a 5 star rating.
