Hello home owners ?

I (Katie) began my house sitting journey back in 2018, when I made a brave decision to leave home in Lakes Entrance, VIC, and travel the stunning east coast of Australia on a solo adventure! I fell in love with house sitting as a way of 'slow travel', and as of March 2025 I have now completed almost 60 house sits (across several platforms).

I met my wonderful partner Nick in 2020 and he began to join me on the house sitting/nomadic journey! We have been travelling since March 2023, slowly making our way up the east coast from Vic to FNQ, and over to WA (via Uluru) where we spent a year exploring the gorgeous South West. We are now venturing into South Australia and intend on gradually making our way around the coastline towards Vic.. Though who knows- we may even stay put if we find a really special place here! As much as we love the freedom of this unique lifestyle and all the beautiful destinations, nature and people we get to meet along the way, we are definitely looking to find a place to call home ♡.

A little more about us..
I'm 33 yrs old and very much an old soul. I love to be in nature and enjoy peaceful walks, anything ocean-related, meditation/yoga, reading, writing, photography, wildlife, and exploring our beautiful country. I graduated as an Occupational Therapist in 2012 and went on to work in the fields of disability, aged care and mental health. These days I am particularly interested in natural health and alternative medicine.

Nick is a 32 yr old kind and gentle, down to earth guy. He is a landscaper, plumber, self-taught mechanic and in general, a tinkerer! Having grown up on farms, he is able to manage/fix anything that goes wrong. He loves being outdoors, making and building things, being amongst livestock, chopping wood, playing guitar, cooking- anything hands on!

We are both huge animal lovers! I come from a home on acreage that always had many rescue pets so I'm comfortable with all animals, large and small. We will LOVE and adore your pets as if they're our own, providing all the affection they need as well as exercise and daily photos to owners if they wish. We have found that many anxious pets quickly feel at ease in our presence due to our calm energy. And many home owners ask us back to house sit for them again in the future.

*** The new addition to our little family ***
It was on our house sitting journey that we completely fell in love with Border Collies... So last year we made a big decision to purchase a beautiful pup from a breeder in Perth (who actually bred one of the BC's we house sat for!) Our little Skyla was born in September 2024 and is now 6 months old (March 2025), so while it has made our travels & house sitting more challenging at times- we adore having her and can't imagine life without her now! She is a bright, confident, well-behaved (but excitable) little girl who LOVES being around other dogs. She is incredibly adaptable, toilet trained and knows many tricks! I never leave her alone or unsupervised with other pets however. We also now have a small viscount caravan (Skyla's big kennel on wheels) - though we are more than happy to live in your home to be with your pets.

Nick and I are very reliable and organised people who appreciate being in a clean environment. We are non-smokers and non-drinkers and use our own non-toxic products for cleaning. We are also completely set up for off-grid camping when we are not house sitting, so we mostly use all our own things (for cooking etc).

House sitting has been an amazing gift in my life and I’m so glad I started doing it 7 years ago! It has allowed us to see so much of this incredible country and meet so many wonderful people and new furry friends along the way. I’ve had so many experiences I never would’ve had if it weren’t for house sitting. We love the lightness and freedom of moving around, and as we are quite adaptable and flexible in nature- it's a unique lifestyle that suits us perfectly.

We have many excellent references listed here and on another professional site I’d be happy to share. With open and honest communication, we are able to provide the reassurance that home owners need so they can truly relax into their holiday, knowing that their home, garden and pets are being 100% respected, loved and cared for. We believe the process should be as easeful as possible, and that is the service we aim to provide ?
