G'day from Amanda & Mal – Your Friendly House Sitters!

Hello there! We're Amanda (57) and Mal (62), a retired Canberra couple keen to explore this beautiful country while looking after your home and pets. Now that the kids have all flown the coop, we're hitting the road in our caravan to see more of Australia and meet lovely people (and their furry friends) along the way.

Our backgrounds? Amanda spent years as a nurse (including time with the Defence Force), and Mal was an IT Manager before we decided to pack up and enjoy retirement. Between us, we've got 9 kids and 4 grandkids who keep us on our toes when we're not house sitting!

We've been house-sitting for over 2 years now, with sits ranging from a quick 5 days to a longer 6-week stretch. We've looked after all sorts – dogs, cats, chooks, fish, sheep and even ferrets! Some pets have needed special medical care, which was no drama with Amanda's nursing background.

Over the years, we've had our fair share of pets too – dogs, cats, fish, guinea pigs, rabbits, birds – you name it. We're proper animal people who genuinely enjoy their company.

We're pretty handy in the garden as well and happy to keep your plants thriving while you're away. No worries there!

The practical stuff: We're tidy, reliable, and respectful of other people's homes. We've both got clean driving records and current police checks. And if it helps, we bring along our own "home on wheels," so a spot to park our van would be bonus.
