We are a mature, professional, non-smoking NZ couple who have been living in Queensland the last few years, working various (mostly Nursing) contracts up and down the coast. We want to settle on the Sunshine Coast for the next 6+ months, while Mark studies (Cert IV in Leisure and Health) towards his new "career" in Diversional Therapy (Aged Care).
We have plenty of lovely and enjoyable experience with Cats and Dogs, and Mark grew up on an Irish farm surrounded by all the usual farm animals and respective responsibilities. Tania was raised in Samoa, but has lived, studied and worked in NZ since she was a teenager.
We have 6 adult kids between us - a blended family - who all live in NZ and think we're either very wise or a bit crazy to be on our working OE so "late in life". We are totally loving our adventures, although these do tend to be very mild - we really enjoy swimming, trail-exploring, biking, playing guitar (Mark), reading, helping people, etc
Housesitting is not a new thing for us, having looked after a few house & pet scenarios (in NZ) - can easily provide contacts for references. We also rented a house in Cooktown for 2-3 months and had a great relationship with the landlords (Gary and Pam - who used to come and visit/stay for a night every month to check for termites!), so could also get a reference from them.
We have our own home (108-yr-old cottage) in Nelson NZ (in Pics - sorry about the drying line!) which has kept my DIY skills very busy. We're certainly very able to assist with any gardening/light landscaping/basic maintenance.
