I’m Mary Ann, and my husband Pip and I are Australians who have been living in Malaysia for the past 4 years. I’m a high school teacher and I was teaching at the Australian International School Malaysia. I really enjoy working with children both in the classroom and in school leadership roles. Pip did some exam supervision and writing on the side, after years of being a theatre actor, a gardener, and then a carer for the elderly. We loved getting to know a new culture after spending most of our lives living around Sydney.
This year (2023) we are taking a year to travel before making our way back to Australia in November. We have been housesitting (through an international housesitting site) in France and the UK and enjoying the opportunity to care for a variety of pets while exploring local areas. We can provide you with a link to our profile on this site so you can read our reviews.
From 2014-2018 we lived in Sydney. And before that we lived in the Blue Mountains and created 2 beautiful gardens there, had lots of chickens, and (at various times) 2 dalmatians (Ami and Max), a beagle (Kobi), guinea pigs, fish (both indoor and oudoor), and a Manx cat (Maddy). We love travelling - Pip lived in Chicago when he was younger - and together we’ve visited over 30 countries. We also love gardening, walking, cycling, doing yoga, the theatre, music and engaging in different cultures and lifestyles. We knit, and we love both cooking and eating.
