Hello! I have house sat three times in 2022 and three times in 2023, and am now available for further housesits in May 2025!

I have owned my own home for 15+ years and rented for 20+ years in Australia. I am a 65yo Australian citizen who has lived in Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney. I am currently resident in Alaska, USA, for at least several years with my wife and one of our daughters, where we own our home. However, with three other adult children living in Australia, and two grandchildren as well, I expect to visit Australia for a few weeks at a time every year or so.

I have been a fur-daddy to cats, dogs and tropical fish all my life. I am quiet and clean, a non-smoker in excellent health, and enjoy gardening, reading, walking and translating chemical Chinese. I retired from the Australian Public Service at the end of 2022, having been in that career for 30 years, both in Canberra and Sydney, and was negative vetted at Level 1 by the Australian Government (ie I have no criminal record etc).

Given these experiences, I am a responsible and trustworthy house-sitter, with good judgement and reliability, and am thrilled to mind your fur-babies as well! I would be housesitting as a single person, as my wife, who is a nurse, needs to remain in Alaska when I'm abroad (as do I when she visits Oz). I will keep your house clean and tidy, and your pets and any gardens well cared for.
