Currently living in Australia (Canberra) whilst on a 4 year work visa, we are keen to explore the rest of Australia and New Zealand whilst we are here through occasional short term sits. We are fit and healthy, non-smoking, outdoor and pet lovers. We have no pets of our own and have no accompanying children. We have both had long successful careers in the UK and are well traveled. Very conscientious, we are dependable and trustworthy; references are available. (content copied below).

We have both undertaken pet and home carer roles, including several in Australia over the last 12 months. With many years' experience of maintaining our own homes in the UK, we have also rented property abroad when posted overseas (USA, Oman and Australia). In addition, we have managed our own rental property in the UK, so are well aware of the requirements of property upkeep and the concerns that house owners may have when others are occupying their most valuable asset. As well as looking after friend's pets on numerous occasions (Jack Russell Terrier, Great Danes & cats), we have been pet owners ourselves (Jack Russell Terriers, English Bulldog, Springer Spaniel, several cats and a plethora of tropical fish). As a long serving Royal Navy Officer and Dental Nurse Manager/Volunteer Police Officer respectively, we have stable backgrounds which underpin our integrity and reliability.
Being an experienced engineer and former technician with a willingness to "get stuck in" means I am capable of conducting or supervising all levels of maintenance and repairs if required. In addition Rachel's Dental Nursing and Police experience provides an eye for security and cleanliness around your home. With the right blend of maturity, diligence and relevant experience we can provide you with peace of mind that your house and pets are in good hands and will be properly maintained and cared for.

Steve and Rachel house sat for us for just over six months from May through October 2018. We found them to be model house sitters, mature and responsible with Steve actively employed in the Defence industry, they looked after our town house as if it was their own. On our return the townhouse was immaculate and the garden well-groomed. Communication by email was timely and appropriate but not intrusive, primarily a monthly update to assure us all was well. We are hopeful Steve and Rachel will house sit for us again next year and have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone requiring responsible and reliable house sitters. Steve and Rachel housesat for us and looked after our little dog for 10 days in October, 2018. They stayed in contact with us while we were away, which we appreciated. On our return, our home was in perfect condition (probably better than when we left) and we were met by a very contented and happy little "precious" who was obviously also very happy with Steve and Rachel's care. We have no hesitation in recommending Steve and Rachel as great housesitters and hope that they'll housesit for us next time we travel.

We asked Steve and Rachel back to sit our house and cat for a second time for a week at the end of September 2018. We were delighted they could sit for us again and very pleased with the excellent care that they took of both Cadbury and the house.

Steve and Rachel looked after our house, labradoodle, 3 cats and 2 chickens for just over 3 weeks in April 2018. They were easy, efficient and diligent to communicate with before and during the sit, keeping us informed and reassured whilst we were away. Our pets were all well and contented on our return and the house was left in perfect condition. We thoroughly recommend them as house and pet sitters and would readily have them to sit for us again.

Steve and Rachel looked after our house and Siamese cat for a week over Easter 2018. Communication with them was clear and easy. They are a lovely couple who quietly arrived the night before we left which gave us time to show them around. They quickly got the hang of the house and made friends with the cat before we left. The house was immaculate when we returned home and our cat was chilled and not stressed. We would highly recommend Steve and Rachel as house sitters and would love to have them back again if the need arises.

We had Steve and Rachel sit our house and our two very lively Viszlas for 7 nights. They were great sitters and we enjoyed meeting them before the house sit began. Steve and Rachel apartment and cat sat for us from 9 May to 3 June 2016. They were well organised, honest, reliable, trustworthy and self-reliant. We left feeling that our home and Stella our cat were in good hands; she was fit, healthy, well-groomed and calm on our return. Very friendly and easy to communicate with, they were neat, courteous, and respectful of our property which was left in a very clean and tidy condition. We would definitely have them back anytime; we thoroughly recommend them as house and pet sitters.

Rachel and Steve house sat for me from 16 January to 4 April 2015. We left feeling that our home and Star our elderly cat were in good hands. Star is quite a particular cat, but she clearly responded well to Steve & Rachel, she was fit, healthy and relaxed on our return. The house had also been well looked after, plants and yard work had been taken care of and the whole property was clean and tidy. They were well organised and self-sufficient. I thoroughly recommend them as house and pet sitters. Anyone who chooses to use them will find them honest, dependable and diligent.

Steve & Rachel have looked after our house and Thomas, our large and very attention seeking but lovable cat several times in 2014. Thomas loves having attention, so he likes his humans to play with his toys with him and he'll also come and find you when he needs to be fed too as he has an enormous appetite ! so having Steve and Rachel here is most of the time whilst we're away is a comfort for us that he's well looked after, happy and content and well fed!!
They look after our house perfectly and will always do extra jobs around the house watering plants etc. Steve cut the grass last time he was here, and the house is always immaculately looked after and left safe for our return. They're also a lovely friendly couple too so I can highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable caring and trustworthy house and pet sitters.

Rachel and Steve have house sat for me on a number of occasions over the last few years. I always go away feeling much more relaxed knowing that Rach and Steve are looking after my home alongside my pet dog Smartie. Smartie is very much looked after as their own dog when I am away and is always healthy and happy when I return. In addition, Steve and Rach do the added extras when house sitting, such as watering my garden/plants and letting me know if during their stay they have found anything in the house needing attention. In some cases they have even offered to sort it out whilst I am away. As a couple, they have always arrived to house sit with no expectation that I need to organise them. They remain self sufficient in organising themselves whilst staying at my home and I have never had any issue with the state of my home upon my return. I cannot recommend them highly enough as house sitters. Anyone who chooses to use them will find them honest, reliable and trustworthy.
