I have lived and worked in Canberra since the early 90s.
I'm a busy, quiet individual, with a mix of city and country experience.
I'm a careful user of appliances, energy, and don't wear shoes inside.
I didn’t think I would do housesitting for this long but now, with so many repeat clients, the rewards of having people feel such assurance and trust in leaving what they have spent their life working for – their home and loved pets - in my care again and for some, many times, is very satisfying.

While by no means an animal whisperer or expert, the list of my animal friends is quite a surreal one at this point, which naturally must build, bit by bit, a degree of experience and rapport – the kelpies, labradors, Fox Terriers, Labradoodles, Jack Russells, Beagles, Maltese Spaniel, Moodle, Border Collie, fish, chickens, turtle, horses and ponies, chickens, cows and many cats.

Among the numerous names and personalities that will stay with me – Minky, Pasta, Breeze, Chupe, Hugo, Tuesday, Elvis, Molly, Bailey, Lillie, Goldie, Henry, Boofy, Dusty, Myschka, Jimmy, Rufus, Charlie (x2), Ozil, Angel, Joey, Lucy, Tiny, Jack, Jessie, Sally.

And being able to attend to or support significant issues for clients, including storm and other weather issues, vandalism, leaks, pests, electrical issues, neighbourhood and family issues, makes the services provided feel very worthwhile.

I also suit people who just want a house with no pets kept secure and maintained while keeping costs down and have completed a substantial number of these (consider the vacancy clause in your insurance).

Please note, I'm not inclined to accept house-sits with cameras on the property. Please advise if this is the case if you do contact me. I will be as vigilant and discreet with your privacy as I am my own.

I do prefer that animals have their own separate sleeping locations (ie not the bed).
I appreciate off-street parking, a comfortable double bed, space in the fridge/freezer/wardrobe. A desk and/or desk chair is a bonus.

I prefer housesits within commuting distance of Canberra, which is where my life is, but also find the many country housesits I’ve done to be a welcome return to my country origins.
All Canberra/Queanbeyan is suitable with a preference for the inner south or good access to that area.
I do contract work to Federal Government in contract management, so sometimes working, sometimes not.

Availability for areas outside the Canberra region will depend on my work status but is difficult to book too far in the future as it may compromise work opportunities.

I can provide identity verification evidence.
For identity security reasons, I consider it a risk to copy or send identity documents in finalising a housesit however the completed verification process provides much higher assurance because ID documents have been verified by experts .
