I am recently arrived in Melbourne from NZ and am in the process of setting up a practice in ContactCare - Flintlock Release - a bodywork modality I have trained in for several years. I want to house-sit so that I may learn this new city I am living in, and also bide my time before I decide which area I want to live in. I am currently staying temporarily with friends, but am available immediately until at least October, and possibly longer.
I recently owned a vegetarian cafe and bookstore in NZ which was my stepping stone to this move - something I've wanted to do for a long time, but needed to wait until offspring were well settled in their own lives.
I don't smoke or drink (or take any other mind or mood altering substances), and have been around animals my entire life - small to large, regular and not so regular. I don't understand special needs fish, but am ok for administering everything from special diets to medication for all four legged creatures. Birds I also know how to feed, and am not afraid of. I am also an experienced gardener so while I may not be familiar with all of the different plants in Australia, I know my way around a lawnmower, secateurs, watering cans, and many other means to ensure healthy and well maintained plant life.
I'm quiet, honest, and have applied for an updated NZ Police Check - this will take a minimum of 20 working days from 6/7/18. I have a dated one with incorrect spelling of my surname. I can also supply character references in lieu of house-sitting ones until I develop my profile on this site.
I have, until very recently, owned my own homes and other properties for 25 years and have used house-sitters myself in the past. I therefore have a very clear understanding of how important it is for you to feel comfortable and safe leaving your home in the hands and care of a stranger.
