Hi there,

Dave and I are a middle-aged couple with a handful of housesits up our sleeve. We'd describe ourselves as personable, open, wanting to live life and happy as a couple. We are clean/tidy, responsible and respectful. We haven't been on this site for long, please see our Facebook page for more photos and reviews (Dave and Cristy - Housesitters).

Over the last year we have travelled out West to work in an underground copper mine (a bit of a change from our usual jobs in social work and sales). We are currently in the Hunter Valley working in the Maitland, Newcastle and Sydney areas. Dave works five days per week with two of those being from home. I work four days. This means that there are two days in the week that no one is home during the day. if you would like a sitter who is home all day every day (very rare to find) then we are possibly not a good match for you. We are looking for house sits in the Newcastle, Maitland and Lake Macquarie areas.

What do we offer?

You can expect that Dave and I will water your plants, put the bins out, say hi to your neighbours and basically live like a local. We will treat your home with respect and keep it as you keep it. We love pets, particularly dogs; some might describe Dave as the dog whisperer! Our wish is that your pets feel safe and comfortable with us as their carers. Dave and I want to keep their routine as familiar as possible. We have cared for both cats and dogs, not only as housesitters but also for friends in our own home, and we have had our own pets too, we get it! Dave also has experience caring for horses.

We have current police checks. We also acquired security licenses to work with explosives in the mines (UHL). I tell you because the background checks for this license are more stringent than a police check.
