Hi there. My name is Matthew. I'm a Brisbane-based Optometrist who has been housesitting on and off in Brisbane for five years. I pride myself on my commitment to attentively caring for your home and pets, ensuring that your needs as homeowner are met with the utmost respect.

For the past ten years I have owned property and livestock in rural New South Wales, which has equipped me with a wide range of skills in house and land maintenance and animal husbandry. I bring this ability to the daily and weekly routines you have set up in your home, along with an awareness of weather, neighbours, administration and security.

Currently I spend my days working, and my evenings studying. I hope to complete my Postgraduate Degree in Ocular Therapeutics in 2018. I have a university-aged son living in inner-city Brisbane (see photo of me with him at his graduation), and some extended family in the Forest Lakes area (see photo of my sister and me at her house). I love to run for fitness and am usually either training for, or recovering from, a half marathon. Most recently I completed the swim leg in the Noosa Triathlon which was an enormous accomplishment on a physical and emotional level. (You can see a photo of that here, too). I am also a bit of a coffee nerd.

It would be my privilege to care for your home while you are away. I am happy to provide updates for you as often as you like. My goal is for you to be able to absolutely relax in the knowledge that your home (and furbabies, if you have them) are being completely cared for.
