More information about this house sitter

We are a fun family of four. Mum and Dad are fully employed - Mum with the government and Dad with multiple roles as artist, bike mechanic, and keeping kids safe as crossing guard at a local primary school. Beautiful daughters are fun-filled, bright stars in our life with one in upper primary and one in her first year in high school. We're looking to fill about four-months gap between the end of our lease and an overseas trip back to Canada in August -ish without being stuck in a 6 or 12 month lease.

We are both volunteers in our community with Mum volunteering as a unit leader with Girl Guides Tasmania and organising Tasmanian Families of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children. Dad was a soccer coach last year and will be again this year for not one but two primary school soccer teams!

Dad was recently seen with his small business "Psychles" and his wondrous wheeled creations at the Myer Hobart Christmas Parade, the Wooden Boat Festival, Fractangular, Marion Bay Falls Festival, and the Evandale Village Fair and National Penny Farthing Championships.

Our daughters are very active in their school communities, Girl Guides, and doing other extra curricular activities such as soccer, swimming and netball. They love animals, are respectful and full of fun.

We are dual Canadian/Australian citizens (or as I like to say 'Canstralian') and yes would have voted for Justin Trudeau! We are lapsed cooks who are just getting back into our creative cooking juices after the dampener of fussy children. We love fresh, local produce with a focus on veggies (50% of our family are vegetarians) and yummy baked goods from scratch. My daughters and I have just discovered a love of sewing and have recently been making good use of the sewing machine for quilts, bags, and pillowslips and are always taking lessons at a local fabric shop.

What makes us appealing as housesitters? Well we're interesting. We're responsible. And our background from Canada had a heavy emphasis on hospitality and taking care of one another. Much like Tasmanians we're community-minded caring for others as much as we can, which is how we'd treat your home. Welcoming you after a journey away with fresh milk or soy juice, potentially homemade jam or other delicious comestible (Damon makes the absolute best Moosewood Fudge Brownies you've ever tasted - what!? You've never tasted them? We'll have to remedy that.) And of course a clean home and healthy animals and plants.

We love animals; currently we have a bunny and guinea pig of our own whom we have to give up to Grandma and Poppy soon. We love dogs, cats, pet rodents of all kinds. I may draw the line at spiders, but reptiles are cool (and please have all the permits for them). Fish are wonderful. We can keep plants alive and lawns mowed if you have all the tools available.
