My name is Melanie and as you'll see from my reviews, I am a genuine animal lover. I have been on the other side as a pet/home owner so I totally understand it's all about trust...trust that my baby is going to be cared for and played with and genuinely loved while I'm away. And also that my place isn't going to be trashed. That I'll find things replaced after use where they were meant to be. That the place looks just like how I left it in every way. So rest assured, I know what I want in a sitter ... and now I have become the perfect sitter myself. Seriously. I am the real deal.
I think it's useful to find out why I've become a sitter. It's because I live on a boat with my man friend. We love each other dearly and we also love some time apart. A boat isn't like a house. It's much smaller. He needs his space and I need mine. I am an author and an artist. I also need to spread out with my jewellery making. So I'll be looking for a place with a large table I can work from, like a dining table. (Don't worry, it's all very tidy work) There's not enough room on the boat for jewellery making. And so house/pet sitting for me has become the perfect solution. My website is livelifehappy.today
I usually like to meet the people who I am thinking of sitting for. The single most important thing in this whole experience is trust. I understand that. If you are too far away, we can Skype or Facebook video. And this trust goes both ways. I have to trust that you are honest with me too about any idiosyncrasies your pets may have. So if they go crazy with fear when there's thunder, I need to know that. If they meow constantly at night to be let out, I need to know that. If they have weepy eyes that need drops, you need to tell me before I accept. Nothing is a deal breaker but I do not want or need these kind of surprises. Forewarned is forearmed.
Be assured that your pets and home will be cared for as my own and you'll be updated every few days while you are away if you would like that. I am so glad for this opportunity to have animals in my life and a beautiful home to write or work in. I am not on a holiday spending more of my time out exploring. While I hope there are some lovely forests, parks or beaches nearby to take my daily walks, I am looking to work at 'home' and this means your pets won't be pining for company while on my watch.
