More information about this house sitter

Hello my name is Irene I am 66, single, and I travel on my own, I cover my own costs wherever my sits take me, if interstate I would arrive a couple days earlier, book in somewhere to explore my new area, before I become a temporary local while minding your home and pets. I also look after homes without pets, if needed. I describe myself as a caring, happy, reliable, trustworthy person with old fashion values and grateful having good health. I'm passionate about keeping fit, I go to the gym most days, I walk and hike whenever I can, absolutely love the beach, and enjoy making healthy meals. Happy with my own company, as its lovely to just take time out, and enjoy being in new surroundings.
I have been house and pet sitting over 5 years now, and find it very rewarding at this time of my life. I still work casually as a carer for the elderly and people with disabilities so they are able to live at home as long as possible. Helping them take care of their pets, with medication and vet visits are also part of my caring role.
I have done numerous sits in Queensland, and in COVID time did many sits locally as it was a way of taking time out when the workload was very hectic, helping my elderly clients as they were not able to have their family members, and the only people they could have come into their homes was their carers.
I do have references from my sits, and I'm sure they would be happy to chat to back up my references if contacted. Also I have a current police check and have vaccinated.
I treat all people's home with respect, and nothing is too much trouble. I do like keeping people updated while away to reassure them that their pets and home are being well looked after.
My brother and I inherited a small farm in Gippsland 10 years ago, as we grew up there on a dairy farm so I use to having pets around me most of my life. My brother and I have decided to put our property on the market this year as we are both getting older and there is too much responsibility owning a farm. For me, I'm hoping to find the perfect place to retire after it is sold, somewhere warm in winter, as the winters in Melbourne seem to be getting colder every year.
I do not have any pets of my own, as after my bulldogs passed away 5 years ago, I don't want to go through the heartbreak of losing anymore pets. But with pet sitting I get to love the ones I watch.
I have one son who is 36 and he is single, has his own home, so I have no pets or grandchildren to rush home to, but I do have a grand doggy, a French Bulldog who I often look after, so I'm happy with that.
Happy to talk on the phone, if after reading my profile I sound like someone you could rely on and trust to come into your home.
I always feel privileged when I am accepted to house sit as it's very difficult knowing you have someone you haven't meet before look after your home and pets.
Thank you for reading my profile.
Regards
Irene
